Knocked out for a month by a rookie DE turned OLB.

It's alright. Walk it off man, rub some dirt on it
That killed me.

:laugh2:

I hate hearing about this. The guy was playing very well. I admire that.

You can control the conditions in training camp a lot more easily than you can in regular season games (QB's aren't sacked in practice). It's not good luck or bad luck when it's happening to every team in the league. Teams should do a better job acclimating their players bodies to contact, but they're too frightened to.

Well, it's not like the old days of real football!! And you mentioned preseason, not training camp...

;)

Now that half of the Giant's starting lineup is gone......how long before the whole "don't corner the wounded animal" cliche pops up?

I'm guessing 15 minutes.

Against a pitiful defense. I'm sorry I just didn't see greatness.

He did have a 'great game' (similar to Romo), but the Boys D did help him out a bit, just like the Gaints D helped our passing attack.

Eli is an enigma, especially, I'm sure to Giants fans...I can't decide whether he has 'something' or not but he was pretty heroic in a lot of games at Ole Miss, especially at the end.

As for the NFL, sometimes he throws the oddest balls and his accuracy was really suspect...Last night, he showed poise and put the ball where it needed to be...But, again, it was only 1 game...Tough break for the Giants losing him this early, no doubt...They haven't been lucky with injuries have they?

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if J-Load doesn't initiate a bit of a QB controversy by the time Eli recovers...The very easy to make fun of Kentucky QB was a heckuva competitor in college...I don't think he'll suffer from confidence issues and he does throw a decent ball...I wouldn't let the Pilsbury dough boy thing fool ya, he's a gamer

There is no controversy -- the only reason why people are down on Eli is because of his last name. Most teams would love to have a young, talented guy who is still developing.

what exactly didnt you like about manning last night? He was outstanding.

Manning had a great game, I was referring to Giants fans. They boo Eli all the time and want him benched. Well, now he is injured.....they got their wish.

I'm just worried that they'll end up having a worse record than the Browns ....

:)

What's the over under on Spencer getting a fine from the League on that play. He did grab the jearsy from behind and yank down pretty good on the League Golden Boy, Eli.

ON SECOND THOUGHT......

You know....when you think about all the stuff that went on when Eli was drafted and he refused to play for the Chargers and he got his daddy to throw his weight around to save him from San Diego......I kinda think that what goes around is coming around for young Eli.

Elway did the same thing when he refused to sign with the Colts. I don't think Elway is looked at poorly because of that.

I thought he grabbed him by the 'sleeve', more toward his shoulder or upper arm area than the back.

PFT is reporting that he might be out for the SEASON.

Oh yeah, Osi is gone for 2 months also

It would not matter. The horse collar does not apply to that circumstance.

He should be. He would have been if the internet and other mass media were in full swing at the time he came into the league.

Does Coughlin have a decent conditioning coach?

Injuries happen, yeah. But what is it with the Giants and their injuries under Coughlin? Every year, they just get a TON of them.

Yeah-someone has to be accountable here.

Many Giants fans just got their wishes answered. It wouldn't surprise me if Lorenzen did a better job than Eli. Kind of the a heavier Brady/Bledsoe, Romo/Bledsoe story.

If Lorenzen replaced Eli and led them deep into the playoffs, believe me, that would be much bigger that those two stories.

Literally. :D

He was still playing when the internet came about and yet no one cared that he refused to play for the Colts over time I have a feeling most will not care about Eli not going to SD.
