Giants quarterback Eli Manning denied an ESPN report that said he has a separated right shoulder and that he will miss a month of action.
According to Manning and an official Giants press release, the quarterback a bruised A-C joint, which at the top of the shoulder.
Manning said he would be surprised if he is out that long, and even indicated he might play this week.
"The doctors put it in my hands," Manning said. "It's just a matter of making throws without feeling like I'm in terrible pain or discomfort. Hopefully I'm a fast healer."
MRIs on defensive end Osi Umenyiora and running back Brandon Jacobs also came back. Umenyiora has an irritation of the lateral meniscus of his left knee. His status, like Manning's, is day-to-day.
Jacobs has a sprain of the medial collateral ligament of his right knee and is expected to miss 3-5 weeks.
