There are rumors that Eli is day to day, could be done for the year, or is out for a month. The Giants' FO is being hush hush about this.

They are giving the same reports for Osi.

This is just ridiculous. If Eli is hurt for any extended period of time, I think I'll start thinking about who the Giants pick in the top three in the draft. Oh brother.

Maybe you've seen more of J-Load play for NY than I have but I remember him being a decent QB at Kentucky...I think he could come in and fill in well until Eli is back...I do wonder, however, are they gonna fit him for a girdle?...Weird to see an NFL QB with rolls showing through his jersey...The kid can throw the rock though.

Question for NY is gonna be the same for Dallas, are they gonna regroup to show they can play some D?

But... but... Spencer didn't have anything to speak of on his stat line in the pre-season. He's a BUST... We should have drafted Quinn.

Other than pre-season, last night was Lorenzens first real action. I believe it was his first pass attempts of his NFL career. I thought he did well in college and could develop into a good back up QB. In the least, smaller linebackers and safeties are going to feel it when they blitz him. He is a load.

Poor Little Brother Syndrome, Thats TOO bad for #10 but sitting at the stadium within earshot of a bunch of NYFG fans it didnt bother me when Spencer whipped him around like a rag doll and slammed him to the turf and only seems rather amusing now. But as the saying goes NO EXCUSES. SUCK IT UP NYFG
:laugh2:

Elway did the same thing when he refused to sign with the Colts. I don't think Elway is looked at poorly because of that.

I'm not talking about looking poorly at somebody.......I'm talking about karma.

Eli's decision has basically blew up in his face. The Giants have turned into the bumbling franchise and the Chargers have become a yearly contender.

I find that rather amusing......especially considering the background that Eli came from compared to Elway's.

It's unfortunate that he couldn't make it back in time to play the Redstinks.

Yeah, it looks loke we did both the Eagles and the Skins a favor. especially if Jacob and Osi are out as well.

The year? I can't believe it was that bad. If it is he's tougher than people give him credit for because I certainly didn't see a whole lot of drama on the sidelines from him.

Lito is out 3-5 weeks with a sprained MCL(his backup sucks, was beaten on that play in the 4th qtr, but Favre overshot him), and Kease has another "day to day" injury. And all this McNabb hype for months how he *made a quick recover* doesn't seem to be all that-who knows how long?

In the end-I guess everything evens out.

It was PFT that reported that it could be for the year...

ESPN reported at least 4 weeks...and is current information.

Giants officials reported that it was day to day, but haven't responded to the newer allegations...leading me to believe it was something of a smokescreen wwhile they got more info.

This obviously is a blow to the Cowboys as well, as the Eagles and Commanders are now looking at a victory against the Giants.

For all of the bad press Eli has gotten, he looked damn good against the Cowboys last night.

The degree of seperation might be a factor too. If it was a real bad seperation he would be in immense pain...so I don't think it's the whole year, just maybe a few weeks or so...

But when that other QB came in, I was thinking WT?....now they have an oline-man playing QB?

I would bet money (well I'm losing too much in the stock market now  ) that he is not out for the season.

Giants' Manning says he might play on Sunday; Jacobs out 3-5 weeks
By ERNIE PALLADINO
THE JOURNAL NEWS

(Original publication: September 10, 2007)
Giants quarterback Eli Manning denied an ESPN report that said he has a separated right shoulder and that he will miss a month of action.

According to Manning and an official Giants press release, the quarterback a bruised A-C joint, which at the top of the shoulder.

Manning said he would be surprised if he is out that long, and even indicated he might play this week.

"The doctors put it in my hands," Manning said. "It's just a matter of making throws without feeling like I'm in terrible pain or discomfort. Hopefully I'm a fast healer."

MRIs on defensive end Osi Umenyiora and running back Brandon Jacobs also came back. Umenyiora has an irritation of the lateral meniscus of his left knee. His status, like Manning's, is day-to-day.

Jacobs has a sprain of the medial collateral ligament of his right knee and is expected to miss 3-5 weeks.

They'll be fine...Eli will be back soon, although I doubt this week...I still think J-Load will fill in admirably...Jacobs, who cares?...Ward outplayed him and will do fine...Osi is a problem...If it's only 1 game, they'll be fine but otherwise he'll really be missed.
