ESPN is reporting Eli Manning has separated shoulder...

Well, I guess that's their response. Doesn't sound so bad after all.

If he had a seperated shoulder...everyone that saw the game would have known right then and there!

The trainers would have wrapped his arm to his waist and got him into the locker room...you cannot come out and play one more series with a seperated shoulder, you just cannot!

Maybe he's doing the McPuke thing? You know, when you are getting beat, hey, fake the injury so that the loss is not on you!

:laugh1:

anthony spencer is made of steel. anything that hits that kid gets broke

2nd victim....he also took the Giants running back out, although it was not intentional, the running back hit his leg on Spencer's back while Spencer was on the ground and the running back was coming through the gap that Spencer was in...

the funny thing is, Spencer was hog-tied on the play, and it was on the Jumbo-tron for all the world to see

It was PFT that reported that it could be for the year...

ESPN reported at least 4 weeks...and is current information.

Giants officials reported that it was day to day, but haven't responded to the newer allegations...leading me to believe it was something of a smokescreen wwhile they got more info.

we all know what that means, a couple of months

Was it the hit by Spencer?

'Hit' is not the correct noun. Spencer grabbed Eli's shirt and threw him to the ground. It was just an accident. But Spencer was fun to watch on that play, and at least two others(including the sack on the 2 point attempt)

I would bet a lot that he tore his cuff which is bad and way worse than a seperated shoulder .i had both and a seperated shoulder isnt anywhere as long term as a cuff.teams lie too much now.

If that is what it is...that is not good!

Good luck, Giants...

im sorry a bruised ac joint is nothing and he could have played with it,a seperated shoulder he wouldnt have thrown anything but it heals fast,a torn cuff he could throw but in severe pain and it makes it worse, probably why they took him out,i mean he obviously needed to be in there, and he sayd bruised ac joint, load of crap.i bet we dont see him for a long time.

Spencer played pretty damn well from what I saw, especially as the game wore on...First game jitters went away and he showed he has the talent. 2 pressures and a sack (although it doesn't count--why is that btw, just dumb).
Better than Ware did his first game, or, for that matter, last night
It sure helps when they don't block you. Spencer should thank Ware for that.

Sucks for Eli. I've separated my shoulder before (actually is was a 6'3" 248 lb lineback from Eastern New Mexico that separated my shoulder). If he were a RB he could still play. It doesn't bother you much to get hit on it, what hurts is moving your arm around and getting hit in a way that makes your arm move the wrong way.

If you are one tough SOB you can play with it though (at that position). Ty Detmer played with two separated shoulders vs A&M back in the day. He played like crap (from what I remember) but he played.

That was a gutsy performance wasn't it?

That's what we got him for... It's like the "Merriman should thank Shaun Phillips for his big plays," and vice versa.

I agree my friend, no way is it just a brusied ac joint.

When the fat kid came out to play QB (while the Giants still had a chance to comeback, especially with our defense), I knew right then he was hurt bad.

Think about it, if it was just a bruise and you blow the game off and tell coach your done with 2 min left, you would be the biggest wuss in the lockeroom.

You are also 100% correct about it not being seperated. I seperated my shoulder in high school and I could not lift my arm above my head for 6 freaking weeks.

Noway you seperate your shoulder and go play another drive, even if you had balls of steel and sucked it up, you physically could not throw the ball more than 10 yards.

Elie is either the biggest wuss in the NFL or he is hurt bad fellas, I tend to think the latter.

Injuries suck, even to our hated rivals:(

Hell yeah. Detmer was a skinny little guy but he had an overabundance of toughness.

You just knew it had to be more serious than a bruise when he didn't come out for their last series.

i thought he was just being a puss =)

It was a big play because it kept the Giants 2 score behind us at the time but I don't take any pleasure in players getting hurt. While it is part of the game of football I hope Eli the best in his recovery.

my thoughts exactly.....;)
