ESPN: Jason Campbell to start for Washington...

I liked Campbell in college...

I didn't feel he was a first rounder, but that doesn't mean he won't be a good player...

He might as well get in now, because if Saunders is gonna stay around, Campbell needs to start learning that giant playbook...

I didn't think Ramsey was a first rounder either, but all that counts is how you play in the NFL. See, Tony Romo,Matt Hassellbeck,Tom Brady vs David Carr and Joey Harrington and Heath Schuler.

Romo was the steal of the 2003 undrafted class. Campbell was taken a round or two too high in my opinion.

I bet he has a better year this year than Alex Smith had last year.

Yet, you're impressed with Ramsey who never did anything with the Commanders, except get outplayed by Mark Brunell.

I'm was never impressed with Ramsey, that's the point

Eric Crouch once won the Heisman trophy.

Game. Set. Match.

And Eric Crouch was a damn good Option Quarterback for Nebraska too.

Actually, that year Rex Grossman should have took the trophy home but he was too young....

THREE players from Auburn were taken before him....one of those three by your very own Commanders.

Odd...you would think that the best player on his team from the best conference would have went before those three...at the very least the skins would have taken him first.

I don't care about his team voting him best player.

Yes, but Crouch was far from the best player in the conference, let alone the whole country. College awards mean nothing

its the right move for the Commanders to move but skins fans will be seriously dissapointed if they think Campbell will have the immediate success that Romo is having. Campbell wont have the same talent around him that we do and Romo was ready because he had the same system his entire 3 years here while Campbell has had a bunch of different systems since he turned pro and now has to learn perhaps the most complicated offense in the NFL. he will struggle at the beginning and probably bad but if he survives and shows the ability to overcome it then who knows maybe he can be a real good QB one day soon

I wish all skins fans would think like this. People have to realize that he is in a very complicated system that most people say takes a year to learn. He is not going to come out and look good at first.

I garuntee there are going to be plenty of skins fans over at ES jumping off bridges because campbell has a bad game. He is going to need time to develop and get used to the NFL.

In All fairness.. teams draft for need.. not talent. Since after the 1st pick, the next QB taken was at 24.. it is safe to say alot of teams were not in the need of QB's that year.

with two top 5 picks in the backfield with him and the best O-Line in the nation blocking for him. Forgive me not being impressed

By your logic, Aikman was an overrated bum. Hell, he even had a hall of fame WR.

Yes. Just like we overpaid to take Q in the 2nd, you overpaid to jump up and take Campbell. He'd have been there in the 2nd round for you if you'd just have waited.

Oh and Ronnie Brown & Cadillac Williams were better on the same team and same backfield.

We got to the playoffs with Q in his first full year as a starter, how far did the Commanders get with Schuler, how far did the Lions get with Harrington, how far have the Texans got with Carr. I'd say Q was a bargain considering how many first round busts there have been at the qb position. We also overpaid for Bledsoe because he couldn't take us to the playoffs with a much better supporting cast than Q ever had.

Rumour was that Cleveland was going to take Campbell in the 2nd, that's why the Commanders took him in the first.

Well, we know how Romo was in his first game he played in, course it was much better the first game he started in.

Wonder how much patience will the Skins have with Campbell. They are really in a similar situation to us when we went with Romo, and we got lucky. Will they be so lucky?

Noone really knows, but we will all be watching to find out.

Two teams passed on him at QB...did they not know he was the best player in the best conference?

IF he was the best player in the best conference why did nobody trade up to get him considering everyone knew they skins were targeting him?

Just something to think about.

Miami and Tampa didn't need QBs?

Since they both drafted RB,, I am guessing they had RB as a higher priority than QB.. just a guess though.
