If you can't see the difference between Eric Crouch and Jason Campbell, you are completely blind.

I wish all skins fans would think like this. People have to realize that he is in a very complicated system that most people say takes a year to learn. He is not going to come out and look good at first.

I garuntee there are going to be plenty of skins fans over at ES jumping off bridges because campbell has a bad game. He is going to need time to develop and get used to the NFL.

He probably will have some bad games, everybody does, but he will have some good ones too. It'll balance itself out.

What are you talking about man?

Haven't you heard some 'Skins fans saying they are going to run the table? ;)
I also heard Taylor and Adam "Riding Pine" Archuletta were the best safety tandem in football a couple of months back.

Doesn't mean every Skins fan believed that.

I kind of agree with BP's old school philosophy. You don't put a QB out there unless you think he's ready. From what I hear, neither Gibbs nor Saunders thinks he is. You can tell whether he is from the practice repetitions he gets.

Putting a QB in their thinking that "real game experience" will help him fails more than it succeeds when he's not ready. He's sat for a year, but that was learning a different offensive philosophy. This is a whole new one, and is much more complicated at that.

Most 1st round QBs are on the field by their 2nd year. Someone who is drafted that high and takes that big a cap hit is expected to be far more polished than an undrafted guy like Romo.

That said, I agree with you. I'm not a fan of throwing guys in the fire for the sake of doing it. BUt then again as an organization, I don't know how you tell your fans and season ticket holders that the you want to keep a failing retread on the field in a lost season because the 1st rounder you traded up for isn't ready to go. I doubt many of their fans want to hear the "6 offensive systems" excuse, as most of 'em are already pretty pissed that another "Spring Superbowl" has went to pot.

Its not a good situation either way.

So to judge Campell because both TB and Miami passed is not an accurate assesment to me. They passed on alot of QB's that are now in the league from that draft.

Because they thought those RBs were better. That's the point.

At least two teams thought the "Best Player in the SEC" wasn't even as good as the 2 RBs on his team. They both had a screaming need for a QB - if they really thought Campbell was better than those guys, why would they take an 'inferior' RB?

He was a reach. Period.

Quit trumpeting Q. No one is buying it and all you're doing is setting him up to be abused.

Never heard the Cleveland rumor. Can you document it? This is me over here doubting it very much. I still wouldn't have paid as much as they did to trade up.

If a qb can get you to the playoffs, it doesn't matter. I don't care what you're buying. You didn't here it because you are not as thorough as I am.
Some people had actually projected Charlie Frye in the first round ahead of Campbell, I don't know why, but at the Senior Bowl, everyone clearly said that Campbell was the best qb out there. It was in the summaries of the Senior Bowl. I don't have a copy with me, but If you really wanted find out, look it up for yourself.

How is this a decision based on what fans would do? The skins are all but done this season. Why stay with an old QB who has no future with us? We need to see what campbell brings to our future, why not start now when the rest of the games dont matteR?

Exactly, Tom Brady couldn't save the Commanders season this far along. There's no pressure on Campbell this year. Might as well see what he has. If he shows anything with all the problems the Skins have, all the better. If he doesn't, so what, nobody can save this season.

If we were 3-6 and Bledsoe was still playing there would be a lynch mob at Texas Stadium.

Exactly. I believe some here are actually more afraid that Campbell will do fine instead of fail.

Sure it is...but, in this day and age, it's not PC to say that, even though it's right there in your face with this kartr...

And people wonder when it will stop....

How do you know what they considered to be a "screaming need" The facts are, neither team took a QB in the draft. Now if they selected a RB in Round One and a QB in round 2.. I could see your argument.. but they didn't.. they didn't get a QB in any round! That tells me,, their needs were different than what you percieved them to be. You might be right,, and I never said that Campell was the best player. I just don't think you can use his team mates being drafted before him as an arguement.. They teams that took the RBs.. needed the RB's more than they did the QB,, or they would have at least drafted one somewhere in the draft.. that's all I am saying.

heck yes he does! He brought Mark Brunell to town and gave him a monster contract!

oh....wait.....

Brunell got them farther than Ramsey ever would have and he's drafted Campbell for when Brunell is thru, so Campbell didn't have to start as a rookie. Sounds like a sound plan to me, because it got them to the playoffs while they were waiting for Campbell to develop. We should have stolen Campbell from them last year. Campbell would now be in the same offense for the second consecutive year. We didn't have to go thru that Henson fiasco and we wouldn't be wondering what Romo's going to do when he faces a team with a winning record.
