This doesn't even apply.

This won't be any managers yanking him back.

If you think, knowing the player and competitor that Tony is, that he won't be lobbying to get back at the helm after a near entire season injured within 2-4 games, you're being neieve.

Tony will be the one coming back to work on his own desire.

Yea he'll come back even if it kills him.

Sure.

We were still in it at what? 2-7 last year lol

0-3 is like a head start.... Giving other teams in division a handicap.....lolol
Well obviously in the scenario I laid out 0-3 would be worst case. I would hope that Dak could at the very least game manage a win vs. the Giants or Skins, but this coaching staff does not inspire confidence.

My point still stands though, 0-3 is not the end of the world

It depends what the rest of the division does. If it continues to be mediocre we can still be in it on Thanksgiving with 2 wins.

I'm more concerned with the return of the defensive guys. We'll be fine offensively and win with Dak IMHO.

If the "6-10 weeks" being pulled out of the rears of Internet doctors who have not seen the MRI or X-rays is to be believed, then why is it so hard to believe he might miss only 4 games?

Because this organization does not have perspective in regard to injuries to their stars. They did not have the long term vision or nerve to handle Bryant correctly like the Falcons did with Julio Jones. They rushed Romo back when his collarbone was not healed. They lack confidence in their own skin to handle their team with a real "next man up" mentality. There is a real reason why injuries are always confusing. You always get the "it's not bad" when the very next day, the player is scheduled for surgery. I guess they think it is being wily and tricky, but it is not even that. They are just overly optimistic with diagnosis because they desperately want it to be that way.

They deal with caution in practices and hold everyone and their dog out from that, but when it comes to exposing hobbled players and playing them half speed in games that count, they do the exact opposite. When will that approach pay off? The answer is more like never.

I'm sure Tony knows all about Wally Pipp, and he will approach this injury with that in mind. He will do his best to avoid being Pipped. :)

Glazer on Fox just said he spoke to the Cowboys and they are looking at 6 weeks :(

If the season is in the toilet by the time he's ready to return he won't be playing this year.

In interview I have heard the compression frx is in the front which makes it even less of an issue than I thought it was. Heard likelihood is that within a couple weeks he will be pain free, so don't be surprised if he is back by week 4 or 5.

Where did that 6-10 weeks come from? Did anyone connected to Dallas or Romo say he'll be out that long? Or has the only said is he is "day to day" with a broken bone?

Maybe this is Jerry teaching his coach in training how to manipulate the media. Okay, it's cute, it's not working. It didn't work last year but Garret needs more teaching moments from Jerry. Can we please just have some real answers.

Uh, because this is the 2nd time he's broken his back? And because the fact you can almost ALWAYS double the amount of time the Cowboys predict. Come on. Its time to face reality.

6-10 week guess is probably form the fact it typically takes 6 weeks for a bone to mend completely. Age and prior injuries being a factor, the guessers probably added another 4 week to that estimation.
