ESPN: Jason Garrett: 'A lot of different timetables' for Tony Romo's return

The worst thing about Romo's injury is it's going to give Jerry an excuse to hang on to Garrett if it leads to another rotten season.

Anyone who thinks he's gone after this season (regardless of record) is fooling themselves. He's in year 2 of a 5 year 30 million dollar contract.

Queue the whining.

Not sure what you believe the whining would be about?

That is always the downside of how Romo is viewed now.

Somehow acknowledging that yes, he is old and no, he does not have five years left in him is some sort of a problem.

There are certain fiscal realities involved. But as idiotic as I think the Joneses are, I would hope that they eventually have an understanding of risk/reward, profit/loss factors with his contract.

It is not going to be pretty no matter what.

That is what happens when you have the most mortgaged contract in the NFL on your plate.

If that is what makes you sleep at night, then by all means believe he will only miss two games.
I am just following your flawed logic... even though you are ignoring that all of your precious Internet doctors have said that the injury is completely unrelated to his other injuries and will have no long term effects at all.
At least it's based on something that happened, unlike your nonsensical, panicky babbling based on Internet quacks. Time for you to log off now.

I was talking about Garrett, Alexander, but the rest of your point was well taken.

Well, that means he will be back game 5 or 6.
By then we will probably know what Dak is made of.
So hopefully he only missed 4 games. We play Giants, Commanders, Bears and 49ers so I'm thinking we go 3-1 maybe even 4-0.

There was a thread on the board a few weeks ago with Aikman saying Romo going down last season gave the team excuses. Any key injury gives Jerry an excuse to keep Garrett regardless how bad we look. With Romo going down 2 weeks before the opener it's given us time to adjust and if we can't look like a respectable football team and win some games with the talent we have offensively even with a rookie QB then Garratt needs to go at the end of this season.

You should get 90+% healing in 10 days. However, the problem is not wanting this to collapse further esp asymmetrically. You don't want immediate complications of an encroachment of a nerve, etc. You don't want long term complications of possibly pain or more pain from more shortening. Functional capacity, serial exams, pain, xrays and probably more scans will determine when he returns. IOWs no one knows at this present moment in time when he will return and that's the honest answer not PR.

Does this message board normally get you this upset?

I don't see any way he misses more than 4 games and it wouldn't shock me for it to be less.

At his age with all the injuries he had the past few seasons and now with a broken bone in his back you'll be dead wrong. No way are they going to rush him back like they did last season and have him take a shot and be re injured again. This is the 3rd different back injury he's had since 2013. I won't be shocked if he doesn't play at all this season.
