I disagreed with the move to fire Rob Ryan, was shocked when that news broke a year ago. Now I'd be shocked if Kiffin is NOT fired. We got embarrassed on D too many times this year. Sure injuries are a part of it, but it went beyond that.

The hypocrisy is amazing though.... One side of your mouth your talking about continuity and not changing things. On the other side of it, your firing your staff and changing schemes trying to 'fix the problem'.

Wow...such wide-spread vitriol...true poison...I'm not sure it was this negative for Campo, Wade, or Parcels, who were all failures.

It is negative against Garrett, but, I cannot recall any of those coaches deflect the blame onto other coaches or players.

Even during Wade's regime, after a loss, all he would say is "this is on me, not the players or others, it's on me".

Garrett does not do that.

So what's next for you fans, take the year off next year and wait for the new HC to arrive for the real season to arrive? Sounds pretty good at this moment.

Have you looked at the schedule? Definitely not the worst idea in the world.

Payton doesn't care that Brees throws INTs... it's a done deal and they move on and attack and score and never take the foot off... you win and lose by playing according to your skill set, not tip-toeing around it.

What's it going to be then, eh?

If there was one thing I think Campo, Phillips and especially Parcells, is that when they spoke, you knew they were speaking to the fans through the media, in their own way.

Whether it was educational, informative, evasive, whatever. That is the only way any fan can try to connect with the coach is through the media, no matter what, since not a single one of us can ask questions of them.

This stiff, meaningless drivel is an insult and is certainly not of any use to any fan who is more than a towel waving imbecile.

I wish Garrett had just told Rob Ryan to "dumb it down" and try to fix the defense with a simpler scheme, rather than this old guy we have now.

On that subject, do you or anyone else have real insight into LB coach Eberflus? Ryan called him the Demarcus Ware of coaches, a future DC, a guy who made the game plans, etc. and maybe he could be a good replacement for Kiffin. Then again, the drop-off in play from Carter and the overall LB play/results this year has been sub-par...

That's one mans opinion....mine is that without Parcels thinking he was so smart at drafting, we would have taken Steven Jackson at RB instead of Julius Jones, and we certainly couldn't have drafted worse on the OL....Parcels missed on every OL pick he ever made. He went to a playoff game with the team he inherited and went down hill from there. Parcells deserves the HOF, but his work with the. Cowboys didn't help his legacy one bit.

His roster work gave Wade a team he nearly coasted to the NFC championship with. And was a legit contender. Without him you think Jerry and Lacewell would know what they were doing?

I mean if you mention Jackson. Why not once he left we took Jenkins and Felix over Brandon Flowers and Chris Johnson/Ray Rice.

Jason Garrett: Master of Deflection and Cliche.

Someone with a brain: So, Jason, how does it feel to lose the division to a rookie head coach, your process failing to climb that peak for three straight years?

Garrett: You know, Chip Kelly is and outstanding football coach. Just outstanding. He knew what plays to call at the right time. Just a great, outstanding football personality. Who wouldn't want him as a coach on their team?

That would probably mean 3-4 again...

coordinators are nothing but scapegoats in dallas. Idk how any would want to coach in dallas other than a young up and comer trying to put his name out there or a old end of the road guy who can't get the job elsewhere aka Kiffin. smh

This is absolutely true and something I was thinking about earlier today. We've had, what, 5-6 defensive co-ordinators in the last 8 years or so? Now let's take a wide angle look at this:

The defensive unit consists of a bunch of injury prone players who can't be counted on, an over the hill pass rusher and some JAG's on the DL, a couple of overrated CB's, and sub replacement level safeties.

You're telling me that a smart coach is going to take this job under these circumstances, knowing that he'll get one year (two at most) to install a completely new system and have success with it, or else he's fired?

Who in their right mind would accept that job, unless, as you say, they have no other option? You might only get one crack at being a co-ordinator, why would you waste it trying to coach in this circus?

That's exactly what it is. There's something insulting about the way Garrett presents it.

And it doesn't help that the press lap it up and act as if he's dispensing these great truths to the unwashed masses.

smfh! Did he really say that?

I guess Garrett's coaching staff did not know when to call the right plays?

Amazing how dumb Jerry is... he doesn't realize that with his lap dog, the same media says the reason his lap dog can't do anything is because of Jerry, while Jerry is sitting their thinking he'll get credit when JG supposedly wins...

Wow!!!! A lot of unhappy fans in this thread. The sticky is clear when you login, "if you wanna follow another team please do so". Its as simple as that, move on and stop wasting your team here with the Cowboys. See ya!!! All that whining crying and moaning is soooo unnecessary. Smh!!!!

I didn't like it when Wade was announced as coach but it was ridiculous the way Garrett was foisted on Wade. I never heard of a Coach in waiting after you've just hired a new head coach. Maybe wade would have surprised us all if he had complete control of the team. If Jerry wanted Garrett as coach in 2007 then he should have made him it. At least the process would have ended by now.

I hope these two guys can beat the eagles next week. then I hope they then lose to seattle. I hate the eagles and I do not like the saints but I hope that eagles lose first then the saints then after that I do not care who goes to the superbowl.

I love Payton's swagger... I just don't like the Saints. I don't mind Ryan either, cause he's got the swaggar too. These guys are straight forward and when they get insulted they payback. Sean Payton abused Parcell's defense when he returned and that set the blueprint to beat the Cowboys.

I think Payton realy wanted to be coach of the Cowboys. Problem is, Parcells went with Tony Sparano as his guy and set us back. His biggest mistake here IMO.
