I hope you don't need a grasp of logic in your job. Let's break this down into bite-size pieces for you.
"We need to stop talking about the playoffs and Super Bowls and just become a better football team."
Why did Witten say that? Because the Cowboys' expectations had been too high, and that impacted how they prepared for and played regular season games.
"This is their Super Bowl."
From that you can infer "This is not our Super Bowl."
From that you can infer "We have more important games to play." (What games? The playoffs and Super Bowl).
And from that you can see that Witten is "talking about the playoffs and Super Bowl." Now knowing his reputation, he is probably working just as hard to prepare for this game as he does any game, but that doesn't change the fact that he his alluding to the Cowboy's pursuit of a Super Bowl - the exact kind of talking he criticized earlier.
Illogical.
Sometimes, people want to see more into something than there actually is. In April, the man said:
"We need to stop talking about the playoffs and Super Bowls and just become a better football team."
He was speaking of his team only. Period. This week, he said:
"We know this is the Super Bowl for them. That's the type of mentality they have."
He was speaking about Washington and the expectation of how much effort his team should expect from the opponent.
That's it. You can try to screw what he said clockwise or counter-clockwise. Doesn't matter. You are not going to penetrate the reality of what has been said with your 'unique' personal perspective.
Spin it to your heart's content. I'm done with this,
"Witten didn't say this, but I'm going to make you believe he did say what I'm saying" nonsense.
PS You're a good poster. Try
hard not to troll this week.
