I don't think so. It's in both their interests.

No, Lawyers are very picky about establishing boundaries in those types of deals. Condon is doing fine in his own business. He does not need Roc Nation and their unproven methods interfering with his established practice.

I was being generous.

And that's part of my problem with offering the guy a 7 year, 110 million with 50 million guaranteed type of contract.

Yeah, he may love football and he may love his teammates but his "knucklehead-factor" looms large and I could see the guy getting cut prematurely and the Cowboys have a whole lotta dead cap space attributed to the guy 3 years from now.

Flashbacks from the Miles Austin contract eh?

I disagree but that's cool.

Austin wasn't a knucklehead... he had physical challenges. But still it was another poor contract in a long line of contracts the Cowboys have given out.

That you know of. I believe his hamstring issues were related to his drinking of alcohol excessively...

we wont ever know now.

We may not know precisely but given that he's averaging $8 mil per season with the Eagles, and the Cowboys could have met that price if they wished, It's highly doubtful they had an interest in franchising Murray at $9 mil for this season.

I have had a lot of dealing with Lawyers. There are some Lawyers that post here, they could probably explain it to you better than I can.

I understand it. I just don't agree with what you're saying about a contract agreement between ROC Nation and Condon. I'm sure they have some kind of contract but I don't think it prevents RN from giving any kind of advice to Dez. It's ok to disagree.

Actually, I would like to know the answer.

I'm not a fan of the concept that he did something that is non-standard in terms of hiring two agencies. He is really someone that does not need multiple people giving him advice.

Who says its standard? I don't think it is.

Last year a deal was done before the season, and dez did not like the babysitting clauses in contract, so he did not sign. That led to losing murray who could have been franchised, and the current situation.
Murray getting franchised? That wasn't going to happen.

I don't know if they really put a babysitting clause in his contract. But if I was Dez and someone wanted to put any clauses that treated me like a child I would let them know where they can stick it. He is a grown man with children. He will be in his 30's when this contract is still in effect. Can you imagine being a 32 year old man with a curfew?

I hope Dez doesn't sit out but I can't blame him if he does. I bet he is wondering why Tyron Smith and Sean Lee didn't have to go through this to get big contracts.

The guy is the best in the game at what he does on and off the field. We need to stop acting like a JV franchise and sign the guy.

Meh. If he wants to hold out, that's his choice. He should look out for his best interests.

As for the the team, roll with what we have and the guys who want to be there.
