IMO it’s because the owners aren’t the professional athlete entertainers. They aren’t the product we are directly viewing and contributing to.

Fans need to come to grips that this isn’t just about a football game anymore. This is sports entertainment at the highest level which includes TV networks and their Sponsors. And they are sensitive to any kind of public outcry.

This is the biggest point right here. I'm not down with exploiting women, or assaulting women, especially when there's not consent. But any woman thinking a grown man, NFL football player, is truly flying them across the country for a massage isn't a credible witness, especially when there's no real evidence of a crime. Dude was a dirtbag, no doubt. But c'mon, the women knew what they were doing. All you have to do is listen to them talk in interviews. I was ready to suspend Watson myself. But all that would be is the NFL playing the morality police, and they shouldn't be doing that.

We must remember and these professional athlete entertainers need to remember as well when you’re in the public eye your personal activity is out there for all to examine. That’s the price for fame and fortune .

Well when two courts refuse to file criminal charges because of lack of evidence, then why wouldn't we learn towards the lawyers side? Why would you side with the women when evidence is not on their side?

Just because a DA won’t take the case to Grand Jury doesn’t mean there wasn’t evidence or wrong doing.

Remember it’s difficult to find 12 jurors who’d convict a popular celebrity athlete while also placing DA public office in potential jeopardy.

If this was any John off the street he’d more likely be prosecuted. And why the league is not relying on our justice system to discipline. They know with their fame and fortune they can often get off.

Protecting your company’s or leagues image with Public Opinion is playing the morality police .

If you don’t want your personal life in public view heavily scrutinized then I suggest choosing another profession . Being an athlete entertainer on prime time network tv is a very public position. This isn’t just about football anymore.

It comes with fame and fortune for which there is a price to be paid in the public eye . And the league is intent on protecting their image because so much money is at stake .

That’s where the league steps in cause collectively they aren’t willing to allow individual teams to risk tarnishing the leagues image .

This is the only way as teams wouldn’t want to place themselves in harms way with their fans .Most fans are only fussy about their own players and not others around the league .

It’s really such a small percentage who even fall into this need for discipline from the league . Less than 1% and why the Players Union has agreed in order to protect the 99+% athletes interest.

Ok, so all of you that don’t like me due to my condescending attitude... the above post is exhibit number one. This guy is so upset that he posts a paragraph about the league being UPSET with Watson’s suspension, so much so that they are appealing his punishment...smh... yep....ugh.
