I don't have a problem with them playing some of the young guys. However demanding or being upset that someone like Chaz green is not getting time right now is pretty silly IMO.

He was hampered pretty much all through camp, has not gotten to practice much during the season due to injury yet people want him to jump in and start now in front of Doug Free. Lunacy IMO.

Let him try and beat out Free in the off season and during next camp. Big thing about Chaz coming out was his injury history. Maybe that will change with a full offseason in the program.

Meanwhile every year it seems like a good number people just automatically think anyone and everyone can beat out doug free and yet they just can't beat him out because they beat themselves due to injuries or other excuses.

Lunacy to expect your 3rd rd pick to see the field once this year? Wouldn't it be better to have some idea what he can do PRIOR to next years camp? Free is due a whole bunch of money next year. That was the purpose of drafting Green.

This is same type of thinking that prevented Miles from starting over Roy Will and Demarco starting over Felix Jones until injuries.

Chaz Green could be worse than Free (I doubt it) but we won't know until we see him in real games. What's it hurt to have some young guys play and see what they can do in 2 meaningless games?

What's it going to be then, eh?

Green might not even be physically ready, so I suppose that can be rationalized. But there are some others that might be more deserving of a shot that won't get it.

So players like Nzeocha and Wilson are just unable to be any more deserving of reps than Kyle Wilber?

I would pull Lee from the line up along with the entire starting offensive line. No need with late season ending injuries (esp. those nursing past issues) to obvious starters.

I have never,..............not once in over 30 years of following the Cowboys wanted them to lose. Ever. In any situation.

I do these last 2 games. Just go ahead and lose. I think thats what is needed.

Yeah...I said I don't mind the other players...just not Green at this point.

However I would be willing to guess if Nzeocha (who I believe also is coming off injuries) might probably be on special teams at best.

I actually thought Wilson got some a little time early on but after that I don't remember seeing much so I don't know if he got injured or was having troubles...honestly don't know about him.

I understand that to an extent particularly if we were a team that regularly had guys getting opportunity. For example, I'm a spurs fan and every year Popovich ends up giving guys opportunities early in the year. Some work some don't but he projects what he wants them to be and has them do it in a backup role and then goes from there.

Garrett just trots out the same guys that have been getting beat and plays them 40+ snaps a game. The guys that are successful he plays the whole game. Game after game after game after game.

on the white elephant side you have Hayden, Free, Church, Wilcox Witten, Cassel, and TWill.

You can argue any individual one but to do nothing at all at any of those positions when we are having historic losing streaks? The only thing that they really changed when we were still in contention was LC for Leary and LC should have been starting day 1 as is now is very very apparent.

As for Green, if people want to replace Free with him one up then that is one thing but they should have been rotating other guys to see if they could find improvement. Free has had some really bad games and his knees flex is a big issue. What does Garrett do? Play him 60 snaps.

I think there is no excuse for not getting him some snaps. Extra TE if you have to but Garrett reminds me of old men that are afraid to try anything new.

Crazy or not...I don't have a problem with players earning it in practice...especially young guys coming off injuries.

We can argue that point but I doubt I would think much differently.

From what I can tell, the winningest coaches ie Arians, Belichick, and Popovich all project players like I'm talking about.

You need a coach with vision to pull it off. Garrett is conservative to a fault. If he cannot see then it is what it is but I want a program that operates as such. I'm not even sure that is the problem. I think the GM apparatus plays a role here too. When you have multiple forces acting, you can appear too conservative when it's really inability to consensus.

This is the time when you evaluate your roster - in real game time.
We aren't playing to make the playoffs. We're playing out the season.
See if the rookies and guys fighting for position have what it takes. See what they can do under fire.

How do you earn playing time when you're deactivated every week on game day Coach Genius.....this team is out of playoff contention, this is the exact time to see your draft picks or backups in real game action to see if they're worthy of keeping on the roster next year, practice reps aren't game reps and one wonders why this franchise spins it's wheels year after year under this idiocy of leadership and thinking at the top

Does this logic mean Mitchell will be cut as soon as Claiborne comes back? Even though he's the only CB with an INT..

He's right. I don't want guys getting handed a job because they were drafted relatively early. I want guys to earn the job like Wilcox did.
