Police suspend investigation involving Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott, cite lack of witnesses

Dallas police have suspended their investigation of an alleged assault that a source said involved Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, citing a lack of witnesses and an inability to contact the victim.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Dallas Police Department said it has "made several attempts to contact the victim through various ways but at this time have not been able to make contact."

Is this a different report than the other thread that mentioned the investigation would be suspended because they couldn't find the person that was punched? Or has Zeke actually been cleared because they looked into it.

As we found out in the Hardy case, the legal authorities can find nothing prosecutable about an incident and Goodell will still find cause by NFL policies to dish out a suspension. Unfortunately, the lack of police involvement does not get Zeke out of the woods. Mara and Goodell will no doubt find a way to make this nothing burger into a Red Robin's Gourmet burger.

Let's be honest, if this was a Giants player everyone here would be screaming that Mara paid the guy off, there should be an outside investigation, blah blah blah. Stop being hypocrites, Zeke got lucky and so did we as fans, but you're right the NFL will still investigate like they do with ALL players.
