ESPN Poll of Hate: Agree or Disagree with extending Romo?

It is the 3 years, the rest is fluff

It's supposed to be. But if you look at the amount of money we have to eat up cap wise when we cut hiom in 2016 it seems to be a much longer deal.

Yeah if only Jacksonville buffalo and Arizona could just figure out finding a qb is easy....
Funny that those 3 teams you listed have won more playoffs than the cowboys the last 16 going on 17 years.

No, it doesn't.

Russell Wilson was picked in the 3rd round by Seattle. Tom Brady in the 6th round by NE. looks like if you draft the right guy, it does not matter what round it's in. Wilson has as many playoff wins in one year, as Romo does in 7.just the facts.

It's all an opinion at this point.

It's all an educated opinion based on what we have seen out of him. Last I checked, it was Romo who was the weakest link in our biggest game of the season last year.

Obviously I would run out and sign a 33-year-old quarterback who just led the league in interceptions to a six-year deal nine-figure deal.

It happened. Deal with it. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And that "weakest link" now has a $108 million contract extension. You mad bro? :lmao2:

The Week 17 performance was bad, and it earned Romo the result of this poll. I disagree with the public, and I think if Romo had that Saints game in Week 17 (400 yd 4 TD Loss) that the results would be the same. But I can't feel bad about his perception, and I can only be confident that he's going to prove the world wrong.

His "perception" is turning into reality and I think that was pretty clear in the Washington game. The funny thing is most of his die hard fans can't admit he was the weakest link on the team vs. Washington. The thing is, he can't shake the meltdowns and when you do make the playoffs and teams play super tough, it doesn't matter even if you have a good Oline, the opposing defense will get through it and the QB still has to make the plays and NOT turn the ball over.

He can't hike the ball with zero seconds on the clock, he can't throw off his back foot and hope for a miracle, he has to take sacks when necessary, he has to throw the ball away when necessary, etc. So far Romo has not shown improvement in those areas. Instead it is the same old year in and year out. Paying him a ton of money isn't going to change his brain from shutting down when the pressure is high.

OK what would you do? Who is the next QB? To the guys that don't like this what's the next step, he is NOT THAT BAD and before you answer we drafted a qb in the 4th round to groom few years ago is McGee even in the league?

Mad that our team is locked in mediocrity for the next 4 years? Nah, I'm used to it, I have already suffered through the last 17 years of it.

I think we should all stop looking at the 6 And 108. It's basically a 3-4 year deal for 55 million. Either he retires after we win a Super Bowl or we move on. Either way he's here to stY

When has anyone ever played out there final contract of there professional career? hardly anyone. This is just a contract to hold in Dallas for at least 3 more years to see what we can do. Everyone looks at the big numbers and just runs with it. It will be fine, complainers going to complain, lovers going to love!! The joy of being a Cowboys fan, you got extremes on both sides and neither can look at the big picture!!

If so many dislike it then it must be good. :laugh2:
I'm glad to see Romo in a Cowboys uniform for the remainder of this career to those who don't Too bad. :laugh2:

Thought I would pop in to see how the board is doing. Time to leave again :laugh2:

Your question has been asked a million times on the forum and at this point it isn't worth discussing anymore because Romo is our QB for at least the next 4 years if we like it or not. But it had to do with trading Romo for a #1 and #2 or 3, and building the lines up that suck right now and then look for our QB in the 2014 draft when there will be several to choose from, some very good options.

Right now the Cowboys are basically saying they are one or two players away from being good enough to go all the way, they have been saying that year in and year out and yet we get the same results. We need a complete overhaul of our Oline, Dline, and safety positions. Not to mention a coach who isn't learning on the job. Look at what the 49'ers did.. they are going to be extremely competitive for a long time to come.

This tells me all I need to know about how you grade the weak part of a football team.

Why would anyone give a 1st and a 2nd/3rd pick for a quarterback who, in your own words, does this? :lmao:

That is very a easy question, there are a handful of dumb desperate teams out there. Did you see what Oakland gave for an over the hill Palmer? How did that turn out for them? I could see Buffalo, Jacksonville, Oakland, NYJ, etc offer a lot for Romo. That doesn't mean Romo is wonderful though.

Extend him? Absolutely.

But we didn't need to break the bank on the guy.

When you look at the deal in its entirety Dallas did not break the bank. I think Romo was fair in what they were asking for and Dallas was fair in the deal they gave him. It is a lot of money but QB cost.
