i said it before and will say it again

the deal is a fact so we should move on

there is no way to judge a deal like this but in hindsight

romo is the best option we have right now but his record in make or break games is not great

he has a lot of talent and does great things but makes game-costing mistakes at inopportune times as well

there is enough on both sides with romo that i am not sure anyone can judge this deal fairly at this point

if, over the next 3-4 romo and this team go on a couple of deep playoff runs with possibly a SB, we will look at this deal as a great deal and jerry will have made the right decision

if, we miss the playoffs or are one and done 1-2 times in the next 3-4 years, we will point to this as a horrible deal and we will say that jerry made a poor decision

He can't hike the ball with zero seconds on the clock, he can't throw off his back foot and hope for a miracle, he has to take sacks when necessary, he has to throw the ball away when necessary, etc. So far Romo has not shown improvement in those areas. Instead it is the same old year in and year out. Paying him a ton of money isn't going to change his brain from shutting down when the pressure is high.

He led the league in game winning drives last year...

My biggest problem is that he calls himself a fan but he only watched one game all year.
Do you ever post anything for discussion or just the comment king if so you should get better at it

That is great but without being in the playoffs that doesn't help much.

Tony has had more than his fair share of GWD, but has never been a season leader to my knowledge. Luck and Ryan earned the distinction last season.

I wonder how the same poll will look for Matt Ryan when he gets his new contract with only 1 playoff win... Something tells me the result will be much different.

He will do better has only 1 playoff win but hasn't lost as many big games. I bet if he doesn't do more soon he will get lots of flack after his new deal. He has been kinda overrated i think cause he followed Vick and his fans want to forget about him. Hes another good Qb but not elite but doesn't need to be with the team he has.

It all comes down to whether he plays for the Cowboys. As long as he doesn't - which he doesn't, since he's a Falcon - the polls should be quite positive about his new contract.

Play for the Cowboys, though, and the opinion polls will certainly be negative.

Your question has been asked a million times on the forum and at this point it isn't worth discussing anymore because Romo is our QB for at least the next 4 years if we like it or not. But it had to do with trading Romo for a #1 and #2 or 3, and building the lines up that suck right now and then look for our QB in the 2014 draft when there will be several to choose from, some very good options.

Right now the Cowboys are basically saying they are one or two players away from being good enough to go all the way, they have been saying that year in and year out and yet we get the same results. We need a complete overhaul of our Oline, Dline, and safety positions. Not to mention a coach who isn't learning on the job. Look at what the 49'ers did.. they are going to be extremely competitive for a long time to come.

Do you still have a Romo jersey hanging in "your office"? :lmao2:

I cannot believe you posted that!!

Polling the unwashed masses is a pointless exercise unless your goal is to measure their ignorance. The only defensible argument for not extending him is the fact that he only has a few good years left and the GM appears to be years away from figuring out how to fix the OL/DL.

Ok, so what did he do when our season was on the line in week 17? Who cares about stats if they can't be turned into post season success?

Like I said, he only watched one game. He's obsessed with that one game.

That's what having a closed mind will do...or not having an advanced education.

Those 4th qtr combacks from Romo is at least what got the Cowboys in the position to try and win the division. But, he has me on ignore because he does not like me telling him things like this....you know, the closed, uneducated mind.
