That’s pretty discouraging. I wish our players competed as hard for a Super Bowl as they do for contracts.
Yep, so Dak's playing hard ball an altruistic act for his family and fellow players.... .I've got no problem him saying I want most/more money, but then deflecting his reasoning onto other's is just another instance of him not standing up and taking command.....similar to the play-off Dak.

The question back to Dak is .......how many years are they offering you, or is your intention to hit free agency again (on your terms) in say 3 years time?

Right. I got no issue if he says I need to get the most money for my family and my current kids and future kids. But the fact he said he wants to get the most money for his teammates and future players is utter BS. My question is how does he help his teammates by taking a large portion of the salary cap? He’s deflecting as he need to do this for his team which is direct contradiction to how the salary cap works. Mahomes helped his team by signing a 10 year deal. Mahomes is a leader. Mahomes is invested in the city and his team. Now if Dak signs a 7-10 year contract then he is walking the walk. But right now he’s coming across as fake because he wants the most money ever, on a short deal AND wants to keep the “leader” persona going.

No one is going to offer him a seven to ten year contract. If the Cowboys aren’t interested in Dak they should not offer him a contract. Not for any amount or length. Some other team will sign him and the Cowboys will have someone else be their starting quarterback. Like It matters.

Well, that settles it, folks! Dak's getting close to being signed, for the better or worse. Let's all give a hearty cheer! Yea -- (I think)

I really do NOT understand some of you all. It's not about football for ANYBODY. The owners have already secured their "bag". TV contracts, season ticket sales, merchandise deals etc....why can't you all accept that players (Dak) have the right to do the same thing? This is a partnership!!!! We are not getting together on Sundays to watch the owners or front office play!!!!

I honestly think their is a lot of you all that think a couple a million a year is PLENTY for any player. It's just a disgusting mindset some of you all have. I don't know what the number should be...but here's what I do know. It should be based on market value. Whether that's in Dallas or someplace else!!!! This is not rocket science!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Boy...

There's no "brotherhood" that needs to stick together and fight for what they deserve more than the NFL QB fraternity. /s

I'm guessing Cousins isn't getting invited to the annual picnic this year.

The gif was funny but the new implication of Prescott's brother somehow being interwoven into this talking point is interesting. Is the brother reading CowboysZone and passing negative commentary along to Prescott? Just trying to keep connecting the dots as they newly appear within this sub-discussion.
Maybe we're responsible for the holdout. lol

He should get his money someplace out. You would think he would want to. Watching Dak have his panic attacks for the next 4 or 5 years isn't something I'll look forward to if he signs with Dallas. The Cowboys need a fresh start and so does Dak.

Hate on bro. It’s what you do best.
Again, I’m not emotionally invested in Dak like you guys, so hate isn’t an emotion that ever enters into the picture. Besides, I just pointed out what he’s said. They just happen to be two incongruous things.

Someone said, by this time next week Dak will have an extension. So it's either today or tomorrow.

Yes, Dak not holding out shows leadership. I mean common sense. Who else is going to get the offense going before opening day? Who’s going to get chemistry with the WR’s? TE’s? RB’s? Who’s going to get the cadence down with the offensive lineman? Again, common sense.
That sounds like all 32 starting QBs. Like I said there’s nothing distinguishable on the field that shows he’s a good leader. I wouldn’t say he is a bad one but just more-so a typical QB.

haha. Maybe we are but the media is not dependable enough to probe whether or not Prescott thinks so...

Reporter: "Dak? You have not received an extension yet. You could be playing your final season in Dallas. How do you feel about that? And has anything you read on CowboysZone.com contributed to any negativity you may be experiencing over your contract negotiations?"
__________

Just imagine the look on Prescott or anyone's face getting a question like that from totally out of left field. :muttley:

It's not rocket science that he's been here for what 9 years and hasn't gotten us further in the playoffs, if he did, there would be no issue!
