Someone said, by this time next week Dak will have an extension. So it's either today or tomorrow.
It was Bob Sturm's prediction by yesterday at 8:48 pm, which was seven days after he posted the tweet. Of course, Sturm could have meant a week equals eight days but I would think he should have said 'By next weekend...' instead if he wanted to include Saturday or even Sunday.

In other words, you don't compete for anything that means jack, and this post of yours is a confession that you know exactly why I asked you the question - because your analogy comparing private normie jobs with professional athletes is ridiculous.
As far as motivation is concerned, it's the same. At the amateur level they play their best to get noticed. Then after they're drafted, they play their best to get paid the most. A championship is the last thing on their minds up until that point. We have to count on their competitive nature to actually win a championship.

That sounds like all 32 starting QBs. Like I said there’s nothing distinguishable on the field that shows he’s a good leader. I wouldn’t say he is a bad one but just more-so a typical QB.
Not holding out likely shows other more things than it ever shows leadership. For example, he doesn't want to be fined and lose money everyday because he knows an extension here or elsewhere could be pushed into doubt and he knows losing hundreds of thousands of dollars will diminish his capability to live really comfortably. It could also be a sign that he's just greedy. It could also be due to fear because there's a young QB on the roster that was a former 3rd pick in the draft that is waiting in the wings that could gain more repetitions in his absence and possibly prove quicker that this player is worthy to be the next starting QB on the team and take his place.

Plenty of people have chosen to lose money for their principles, i.e., they can't be bought off. They are typically known as people with integrity. I'm not saying Dak is one way or the other, I'm just pointing out a general observation about the human condition that is true.

Leadership primarily has to do with being the central figure that others gather around and rely on to accomplish a goal. And they have that quality because they are also good at doing that. QBs in general are known as the field generals (and a general is the leader), and you see the former literally manifested there with all the players on a team gathered around them in the huddle. If players see a QB constantly choking and not doing his job and becoming a hindrance to success in certain key situations, then they (like the fans) are not going to think he's a good leader. Success in leading a team to a goal is almost always what leadership is about.

Maybe we're responsible for the holdout. lol
Like Dak gives a rat's behind what any of us think? Lol...that's part of the problem...Many think Dak and Jerry hear them whining or praising them, so this forumjas become 90% aboit them....In the meantime we have many other players busting their butts to earn a job and no one seems to care.

His agent needs to get Dak away from the subject at hand more often.
His “move on “ comment, ....now this
Shows arrogance
Needs to learn word salad that says nothing
His “followers” will still absorb it

For the brotherhood, what a crock of BS. How about for the fans? How about for the Cowboys fans who have suffered for 30 years, you play for a reasonable 55M/year?
Allow the team to add a few extra pieces, you know for the fan brotherhood. Instead you're gonna make sure your NFL brotherhood like Brock Purdy is happy when you reset the market QB salary at 65M/year? Got it.

Just shut it Dak

I really do NOT understand some of you all. It's not about football for ANYBODY. The owners have already secured their "bag". TV contracts, season ticket sales, merchandise deals etc....why can't you all accept that players (Dak) have the right to do the same thing? This is a partnership!!!! We are not getting together on Sundays to watch the owners or front office play!!!!

I honestly think their is a lot of you all that think a couple a million a year is PLENTY for any player. It's just a disgusting mindset some of you all have. I don't know what the number should be...but here's what I do know. It should be based on market value. Whether that's in Dallas or someplace else!!!! This is not rocket science!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A couple of million is way more than enough, and you can kick rocks with your labeling people "disgusting" for it.

If the NFL suddenly reduced salaries down to the 100,000 to 500,000 nearly every current player would still take it and play. And if they don't then there are plenty who will.

A couple of million is multi-generational wealth. The vast, VAST majority of people will never see that kind of money and yet they make it by just fine.

If you don't like us talking about money then convince the NFL to get rid of the salary cap, and stop making the details of contracts public.

"I'm a guy that grew up with two older brothers," Prescott said. "You understand what a brotherhood means, not only for just this team but the fraternity of the NFL and the players. The money is out there and the money can happen. It can be done. There's ways to make everything work for both ways. That's in that sense it's always about pushing the envelope for the next man."
Good for him.

Not what Cowboys fans were hoping to hear. Sounds like Dak is looking for $60 million or more in which case I say, have a nice career Dak, somewhere other than Dallas.

well said,,, and throw in your team mates too Dak, they should be more "brothers" to you than unnamed QBs in the future. I don't begrudge anybody any amount of money or put limits on how much an individual can have, but if you're a leader and you're about leading your team to a championship then how much of the pie you're eating is an issue. If we're building a race car to win we can't be spending half the budget on a loose steering wheel.

Yep, so Dak's playing hard ball an altruistic act for his family and fellow players.... .I've got no problem him saying I want most/more money, but then deflecting his reasoning onto other's is just another instance of him not standing up and taking command.....similar to the play-off Dak.

The question back to Dak is .......how many years are they offering you, or is your intention to hit free agency again (on your terms) in say 3 years time?
He is definitely standing up and taking command.

He is making GM Jethro pay for his dumb trade and waste of cap space.

Jerry and Dak are so perfectly meant for each other. Each does it in his own way, but they are both just purveyors of endless bull crap with no substance, meaningful accomplishments, or dignity.

Post of the year. Short, succinct, to the point, accurate.
Excellent....we'll see Dak Haters hopefully after the 2024 regular Season for your annual Hate Convention

The QB's should form their own union then. If they are all looking out for each other, then they arent looking out for the other 50 guys on their own team. Who wont be getting more money if it is given to the starting QB instead. What about looking out for the guys in the same locker room and not the starting QB for a conference rival? Their thought process is warped and should be challenged.

I'm willing to await Dak's resurgence in the playoffs, as long as he avoids repeating the performance of last year vs. Green Bay. I'm actually confident that he'll deliver a noteworthy performance against most teams in the regular season, though, and that's good for his reputation, no doubt.

Now, it's time to prove he's capable of putting forth such respectable play in the tough games that count the most. I really hope he does, for his own sake, now and in the future. His future with the Cowboys may well depend on it. I hope he succeeds and proves he's special to us all. I wish him well, for his sake and this team, in the future. He deserves more respect than he's been getting lately. Hopefully, he'll get it, for himself and his team.

Dak, that is the polar opposite of the way you handled your last contract. Quit spewing nonsense. If you're going to be excessively greedy, own it. At least then I can respect you.

No, Dak, you can't make everything work if you overpay players. That's dreamworld crapp.
