I have to give a shout out to a poster on here that I can't remember. In a Watson thread I asked what was the holdup in determining his suspension? Someone here responded with, wait until training camp when the attention can be diverted.

Especially when you consider the fact that an NFL investigator, a woman, said she could not find enough evidence to charge Zeke.

The same woman is no longer employed by the NFL....I wonder why...kind of surprised she wasn't found slumped against a tree in some city park.

I agree the decision, 2 courts found not enough evidence to convict. We have to go with the facts whether we like it or not. If these women chose to settle for money instead of taking him to court, then they have possibly put other women in danger of SA and their character should definitely be questioned.

Elliott wasn’t prosecuted and the NFL’s own investigator (a woman) recommended no suspension. Yet he still got 6 games. Watson should’ve gotten a year at least.

There are probably 31 owners who want Watson out for the year and are livid at the Browns for giving him that contract (though you could sell me that 2 of them are lying and would have done it themselves because they tried to). They do not to spend the entire NFL season answering how Bauer can get 2 years and 60+ million lost and Watson gets 1/3 of a season and 350k. There are scandals you do not want to be on the wrong side today of this is probably one of the ones at, or near, the top of the list.

The NFL even recognizes how they need to change the narrative because they launched an initiative today speaking out against sexual assault. That initiative will do nothing if the current face of sexual assault in the NFL, and that is what Watson is, is playing this season.

Mark my words, a Cowboys player will probably at some point get accused of what Watson did on a smaller scale, and get a full year at a minimum.

Makes sense, but I respectfully disagree with the reasoning.

God knows how many accusers and 30 settlements is absolutely insane; unprecedented, really.

The NFL has a right to protect their brand and distance themselves from Watson, or throw the book at him.

They just felt like it wasn’t that big of a deal.

I don't believe I would call that "the high road" in this situation.

The high road would be doing what is right.

Been telling posters this........the decision not to play last season was pretty much his. The Texans wanted to keep him and he was NOT on the league exempt list. But once he made up his mind he would never play another down for them, they had no choice but to protect their asset knowing they would have to trade him.
