ESPN: Sources: WR Dez Bryant to visit Cowboys

He hasn't wasted many lately. The only bad one we've had since 02 is Carpenter.

Jones, Jenkins, Spears, Ware, Newman, RW, and Spencer all dispute your claim.

And that one was Parcells.

I myself would take Golden Tate over Bryant any day of the week. For one, he's not an idiot like Bryant, he has a good head on his shoulders. For another, he has the speed and hops in is feet that Bryant doesnt.

Lastly, Tate has spent his college career playing in a pro style offense under Charlie Weis.

This man speaks truths. I don't want Golden Tate either, but the facts don't lie.

The one thing I do like about Dez Bryant is he is such a well known player that he instantly brings a lot of competition to the receiver position for us.

Guys like Ogletree and Williams need to be pushed this offseason.

If we do draft him than do we trade Crayton?

probably or hurd

If you draft Dez Bryant, you probably trade Sam Hurd, or you just carry more guys on the roster and see how they do.

So you think he'll replace hurd as a 5th WR? I doubt a player of his caliber would be so far down on the chart. I'd think Crayton. Don't forget dez was one of the top returners in college football.

A player of what caliber?

How many snaps has he taken in the NFL?

You'd have to wait and see if he actually can pickup the playbook and do all that's asked of him within the offense before you just start putting him in the starting lineup.

On the Cowboys, he likely wouldn't start. Would he start on a team like Seattle? Absolutely.

But it wont make a difference if we can't get guys blocked up front.

Jared Gaither > Dez Bryant

Our skill players are more than good enough. If you want this offense to take another step than give Romo more time to throw.

Iupati > Dez

I would think Crayton too because Byant and Crayton would have identical duties.

Hurd does something completely different.

I'm honestly scared to not have Crayton because he and Romo have great chemistry and he is key on 3rd down conversions.

Key is an understatement. In limited action the man had nearly as many yards receiving as Roy Williams.

I would rather have Austin and Crayton starting with Williams in on 3WR sets.

Hurd battles the other STs players for a roster spot more than he does the other WRs.

If im being honest with myself i'd rather have Crayton over Roy Williams too. :(

What do you mean a player of what caliber? He's the consensus number 1 WR for a reason. If he could learn the playbook, which you can say for all prospects, he could easily take over Crayton's or RW's spot, preferably the ladder.

A huge "if" for a player that doesn't like to show up on time for meetings, practices, or games.

I'm glad you've moved on from Gaither and Atogwe, though.

Crayton is too valuable because he has a role he excels at and its a key role in the offense's success, especially on 3rd downs. I doubt very seriously they'd trade him even if they did draft Bryant (or perhaps Golden Tate). Crayton also vastly improved as a punt returner this year, so he has two roles that are important. Until somebody shows for certain that they can replace him and be an improvement, he isnt going anywhere. They'd be more inclined to keep 6 WR's IMO than get rid of Crayton. Hurd or Ogletree would be the odd man out IMO if they only went with 5.

What a horrible comparison of players. Lmao Rashaun Woods was a possesion WR, nothing more nothing less. Dez Bryant is a game breaker. Sheesh.

I live in Stillwater and I'm an OSU season ticket holder- have been for many years - seen them both in person many times. IMO, absolutely no comparison talentwise. Dez has more speed, both top end as well as in and out of his cuts. His hands are above average, and he has good body control. For his size, he's very athletic. He's proven time and again he has the ability to be a gamebreaker. He's an incredible punt returner as well - ran 3 back for TD's. All I can say is, no defense could cover him man-to-man. He always had a safety over the top. As far as pure football talent, we could use him. I think when healthy, he's very close to Roy right now talentwise, with the skills to to eventually replace him.

I've heard that he's a good kid overall.Never heard anything about alcohol, drunk rumors. Also, for the one poster, be wary of throwing around the word "stupid" - there might be circumstances that you don't know about.

He did the same here in Lufkin Texas when he played for the Lufkin Panthers, we won some playoff games because of his super abilty. There is no question about that, God gave him some super talent.

If the cowboys draft Dez, or say tate, or some other top wr in 1st or 2nd or 3rd round, i think that the cowboys will keep crayton this year, let that wr develop then trade crayton during the 2011 year. That the Cowboys have to wait and see how Roy Williams, and Martellus Bennett step up this year. Thats the key, their development, along with Ogletree.

I'd say where Dez is drafted will tell a lot about his supposed character concerns. He's a top 5 talent, so if he falls into the 20's then there is probably something to the rumors. If he goes in the top 10 or low teens then that could be due to his time away from the game. I guess draft day we will find out.

And about the alcohol thing I should have clarified one thing. When I was told he was drunk I never asked how drunk. As far as I know he only had a couple of beers. I really didn't go too much into it. I don't see any reason why he would make it up though.
