I keep saying it; it would be a perfect storm to get both Moore and Winston. Frederick would have a lot easier time coming into this with Moore beside him.

Winston would be a great upgrade over Free.

Everyone who keeps saying Free could stay. I don't know what kind of reworked contract that would have to be. The dude is expensive plain as day. Even if he took the veteran minimum, we're still looking 3.75 million for a terrible offensive linemen. And no, I don't think he can kick inside.

I wasn't as sold on Clabo as everyone else, but I do feel as though we needed to upgrade this tackle situation. If we keep playing games with Free, I'd have to say that's a real disappointing scenario.

At this point we need to worry about San Diego, and Tennessee. I read one report that said that the Chargers were an unlikely place for him to go, but I'm not sure how reliable that was. He met with the Titans over a week ago and still nothing, so who knows if they will pull the trigger on him.

I'm a huge fan of Moore, but I'd rather roll with Parnell than Winston.

----

Edit -- I will say, however, that I do think it's interesting that they say the Cowboys have a higher rating on Winston than Clabo. That seems contrary to most reports I've read.

Winston must be dirt cheap because that is the only logical reason to want him over Clabo.

No, it's not the only "logical" reason.

Please give more reasons? He can't protect the passer as well as Clabo. So I don't really see why they would want Winston over Clabo unless they think Winston is a long term solution which he is not.

Clabo is better and younger than Winston, but there isn't a huge difference, so I don't agree that there isn't a logical reason to want winston over Clabo

Listen to the audio for what was said.

When they spoke to a source they said they thought Clabo wore down at the end of the season and did not look as good as Winston.

Personally I think Clabo is/was the better option...but either way there was more than one logical reason.

Sometimes you say something and realize you were wrong later...in this case it is just a matter of time before you realize, and admit, that you were wrong.:D

Can u give us a recap?
Winston, according to FO, graded higher. More athletic and Clabo was wearing down toward end of last year. Winston would like to play in Texas. The implication was that the Cowboys are in fact interested in Winston.

This comes down to money -- what can you get him for, do you keep Free, and if so, can you move Free inside to OG. Free might be able to move inside despite height because he doesn't play tall.

That's the nutshell summary, after one quick, somewhat distracted listen.

I still think Clabo was the better option.

With that said.

Winston is not a Cowboy right now.

Just because people are talking about it does not mean he will be.

We very well could roll out the season with Parnell and Free.

In that case you might be saying...there is no logical reason that Winston is not the better option. :laugh1:

At this point I would be shocked if Free is here June 2nd unless he changes his mind about a pay cut.

Clabo is not younger. Winston is 29 and Clabo is 31.

Winston is a better run blocker than Clabo

Maybe we are serious about improving the run game'!

YEAH! Wishful thinking post of the day

On an unrelated note.

This is the second audio clip I have heard and just from listening to him...this "stretch" guy sounds like an idiot who is more interested in making up a funny line than to accurately describe players.

He also said Free could slide over to guard. Brian Broaddus has said the same.

I don't recall Broaddus saying that. Of the times I have heard him talk about that he kind of has said the opposite.

But maybe he has changed his mind and I have missed it.
