I think, unfortunately, Romo will never be "healthy" again.

I think Romo will get his job back .... I also think he will be injured again within one game of getting said job back and it will be a moot poin.

Your argument is based on false premises.

Dak is playing so much better than 99% of us thought some seem to think he can beat anyone. Well, on any given Sunday. But I'll bet you all the tea in China the HCs in the league are going to prepare for Romo to play as soon as they put him on the active roster. He's our best chance to win esp against playoff teams.

and this is a false premise since its not guaranteed we are making the playoffs. So if i had to go with what i can control, I would rather give Dak the experience vs the hopes Romo gets us to the playoffs and with his record, its a better chance on a first round exit. Again, reality is Dak will use the experience more than sitting on the sidelines. Two years ago, i would say play romo, but for 2 things. I dont believe this team is playoff ready, and Romo is not getting younger.

Those who think Romo should be put back in once he's healthy, you're not going to get the Romo from 2014, you'll likely get the one who returned from injury last season and threw 5 picks. Dak has gone 4 straight games without an INT or turnover. You won't find many 4 game stretches over Romo's career where he didn't have any turnovers.
People act like 2015 did not happen. Romo did not look good when healthy last year. And now he is older and MORE injured. Dak has this entire organization energized. This offense is playing at a better pace. Lesser players are being elevated. Dak is standing STRONG in the pocket in the face of blitzes. The coaching staff is actually COACHNG. Romo had this entire organization riding his back and they broke it. Dak has everyone doing their job...and it is refreshing to see.

I love Romo, and he would obviously offer an upside over Dak but I definitely see both sides of the argument here. With our Oline developing a rookie QB on the field instead of behind the seasoned vet is a good option. Our defense is coming around so our chances to do something this year improve as they improve. Zeke dominating the run game makes our year shaping up to be something nice

Obviously Dak is our future and the next 3 weeks will tell us even more but I am a little torn on the decision now even though I voted putting Romo back in because that is the right decision. People are hyper critical here just like criticising Dak for inaccuracy when he puts up a 71% rate. If he was inaccurate on those throws to the right it was because the LB was dropping and it would be a difficult window to throw into. So don't complain about that inaccuray when he has not thrown an Int yet. Those go hand in hand. He is being very careful.

74 percent say keep Dak as the starter. Good to see some people arent so delusional to think a guy who had 10 years to get the job done and hasnt done a thing should come back and reclaim his job

You think you're comparing players, but that's actually a comparison of teams.

That's one of those things that absolutely gets over looked by so many.

For some reason there are people that don't seem to grasp that no 1 player has ever won a Superbowl in the NFL. Ultimate team game yet the game has lots of fans that don't seem to understand that.

If this team pushes past CIN and GB things will get even more interesting. If healthy start Romo vs CLE. Let Dak get the SNF game vs PHI so we can see how he handles that defense and it gives him a taste of every NFC East opponent.

Isn't that the truth. How long has it been since the Cowboys have consistently gotten teams off the field on 3rd down like we have seen so far this year. This is odd and refreshing!

As for me I'm completely torn on this.

I can see exactly why so many are ready to simply ride with Dak. I honestly can see why that would be a good option. Especially after yesterday.

But Romo is my guy. He's the man. He's been the man. I love his heart, his drive, and he's always given me the hope that this team is always in it with him under center.

I still think Romo is the better QB (As I believe most probably do, even if they're ready to just roll with Dak) and because of that I'm still leaning toward Romo being there when he's ready.

But I'll admit that Dak has made this choice a heck of a lot harder (Even on me) then I ever thought he would have.

I'm still riding with Romo though. That simply isn't going to change for me.

I'm sure a bunch of beer gut, not very discerning fans will make this poll 100-0 in favor of Dak, but either way Tony is going back in. And when he does -- and it may be hard to believe right now, so trust me on this -- but Tony also throws a mean 5 yard pass to Jason Witten. We'll be fine.

That made me laugh :)

If Dak keeps improving each week and we keep winning, we do nothing at QB once Romo is healthy....period!
Haha. Romo will start when he is healthy.

You play to win TODAY. Romo is the best QB on the roster. We'd be 4-0 right now with him.

Romo is the best QB on the roster.

According to who and what?

You know he is good for at least 2 turnovers a game. You dont know if we would be 4-0. More like last year.

10 years as a QB, 2 playoff wins.

You tell me another QB who has had 10 yeears to get the job done and has done so little and STILL kept his job

No. The liability to this team was the lack of a competent backup up at QB. That was the problem. We have a competent QB filling in now that has the promise to perhaps be the future franchise QB.

I love Dak and think he is doing a great job but the man is running a college offense here in front of your very eyes in the NFL. .

Disagree wholeheartedly. This is far from a college offense. Sure it's catered towards him but he's a damn ROOKIE winning games in the NFL? Dak is changing plays on going through progressions properly. Do you get that? A college offense is what Chip Kelly runs. A college offense is rg3 in 2012 and he got exposed eventually. For everything we're lacking vertically and explosively right now, an argument could be made that we're playing towards are strengths, NOT OUT-THINKING ourselves, taking what the defense is giving, RUNNING THE BALL, and actually COACHING. Further the team is playing with swagger and not blinking an eye in regards to key injuries. I think the organization has taken a PEYTON MANNING approach with Romo and has been careless with coaching and putting far too much on his shoulders. Romo has lapped the field statistically over every other qb in Cowboys history but also has the least success when it counts. Let that sink in. Also keep in mind, I'm a Romo fan. I love the guy... I just like what I'm seeing and recognize that something has been fundamentally flawed under the Romo era. Dak maybe a rookie.. who was not drafted with the intention of leading this team but circumstance is giving us glimpses of what this team looks like with new life.

Really, that is a bit overdramatic. This is the same recipe we used in 2014 to the tune of 12-4

While some view Romo as the team's best option for the postseason, his injury history combined with Prescott's strong play has left many in Cowboys Nation intrigued by the rookie's prospects. The Oct. 30 contest is a date with the rival Eagles, who knocked Romo out for eight weeks in 2015, beginning the team's tailspin en route to a 4-12 finish.

If they bring Romo back for the Philly game, Romo might be out by the first half.

Its not 2014, its 2016. And in case you didnt notice, the recipe right now is Dak Prescott.

That is pretty much all Dak-offs have to cling to at this point as Prescott's final 2 games approach. The hope that injury prevents Tony from being able to hand off to Zeke, dink and dunk and watch the wins pile up... and no one mentions Dak again until training camp.

What I expect when they feel Romo is ready is for Tony to help this offense produce at a higher level than they are now. If Romo play is not good then I have no qualm about pulling him. Right now I view this the same as what Drew Pearson talked about last week and how things were done when Landry was HC.
