In my eyes as much as I like certain players we have, we will need to move on from them and it shouldnt be too difficult to do so. The first 6 games of the season have proven that the Cowboys dont need players like Gallup, Collins and Jarwin. One immediate move that should be made prior to Nov 2nd is the trading of Gallup to a contender in the AFC. There is no doubt a contender for playoffs like Vegas or Cincy or Baltimore or Indy would pony up picks for him. This would eliminate the need to even worry of signing him. A player like Wilson will then become a priority at a lower cost than Gallup would cost. Collins and Jarwin can be kept this season but cut or traded in off season. Resigning Schultz and continuing to develop a player like Steele should be a priority. Those 3 contracts alone will ease the pain.
I would consider Connor Williams. I personally believe we should be giving a player like McGovern a chance to start. I dont like what he provides he is a drive killer. Another would be someone like Anthony Brown and Jordan Lewis. Its not like they are valuable pieces to this defense. That is just over 11 million for the both of them. Your telling me players like Joseph and Wright cannot do the same as them? How about drafting some more corners. They can't be any worse than them. Maybe sign a cheap vet or 2 to help out Diggs and Joseph.
If they restructure contract of Prescott and Cooper to give them some more room, we should be perfectly fine. Without the restructure of these contracts you have already opened up 33 million approximately in cap space. Now we are not above the cap we are 18 million beneath it. Now you go out an resign your own in Gregory, LVE and Wilson.
