Assuming you're not just trolling, what's so funny? They both have about the same amount of attempts now to compare and Cassel has literally been worse in every aspect of the game. Less accurate, more turnovers, less yards per attempt, worse passer rating, and worse QBR... all of this with 2 games of Dez. No need to answer, I've already heard the "statistics don't tell the story when they don't agree with me" line.

Cassel is a 3rd stringer with a weak arm. Time to draft Romo's replacement.

You've got that right! And the aging Cassel's arm will only get weaker with age. He has just as many Pick Sixes as he does touchdown passes. What this guy is still doing in the NFL is beyond me.

I think not; Cassel has been worse than even Weeden. I honestly have no idea who could be a back up in this offense. Apparently it requires an upper echelon talent who has the ability to orchestrate and move around every player on the field at the line while the play clock ticks down.

So true. Cassel has been worse than Weeden, who played better teams without a running game and without Dez Bryant. Cassel may be slightly more mobile than Weeden, but Weeden's arm blows away Cassel in every aspect: accuracy, yards per catch, TD to INT ratio, etc. I would love to see Weeden play with Dez Bryant against a team like the Giants or Eagles!

Weeden has a great arm that's true, but he has zero touch. He throws every ball like it's a fast ball. Weeden couldn't lead the team against a bad Saints team or a Falcons team has come down to Earth. He just isn't very good. He's a guy who can come in like he did against Philadelphia and Washington last year and do an okay job in relief, but he's not or will never be a solid backup. Takes no chances. Can't read or make progressions.

Cassel on the other hand has a super slow delivery, has a noodle arm, doesn't look off safeties well, lifts balls into double and triple coverage, gets a lot of balls tipped because of his low delivery, and is just a horrible decision maker. Tries to fit balls in when they
can't.

In short both of them are awful.

I wouldn't go that far in wanting to see Weeden again; however people have this irrational hatred of Weeden to the point where the hyperbole over how "bad" he played has become insufferable. It mostly boils down to people just not being able to deal with being wrong; many people promised that Cassel couldn't be any worse, yet that's exactly what he has been. It also doesn't necessarily mean that Cassel *is* worse -- he's in a tough spot having been here a few weeks-- he's just played worse. Oh well, only one more week.

Did Cassel play "worse" ? It sure seemed he took more chances to make plays. I'll take losing while playing to win rather than losing while trying not to.

I think Cassel is a really solid backup to have.

I just think we need more of a playmaker type with Garretts scheme.

I'd like a guy that can do more with his legs behind Romo. A Colt McCoy type.

We need a guy who can make plays outside of the scheme as our backup.

We had our chance with the Austin Davis kid. But nope.

Why? He cant win a single game. Why would you bring him back?

a 1 point 4th qtr loss to seattle , last years SB almost champ
and a OT loss, to philly where he didnt even get to play a down, yeah he is awful !!
Cassel is better than weeden, and really no telling what jones boys will do.

If Cassel wants to stay he needs to win the TB game and look good doing it.

Do you have faith he will win in Tampa?

In all fairness, Cassel hasn't likely had quite enough time to comfortably absorb Dallas' offensive system. I believe during next training camp may possibly be the time when the decision is made to either retain or release him. It's also wishful thinking at best on Jerry's part for Romo to play another five or six years, as he has stated previously. The time for an eventual replacement to be groomed is at hand. Today's college QBs are normally anything but plug and play. It might well take several years to groom one properly.

With final start Sunday, Matt Cassel hopes to be Cowboy in future

IRVING, Texas -- If all goes as expected, Sunday will mark Matt Cassel's final start this year as the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback.

Tony Romo will return from a broken collarbone Nov. 22 against the Miami Dolphins, which will put Cassel back to a reserve role.

"I don't know what the future holds," Cassel said. "Obviously, Tony is coming back next week and when he gets back, he's back but at the same time I would love to finish on a winning note and obviously teams, we'd all to win, so again all of our focus has gone into this week. We're not even thinking about next week when Tony gets back. We're just focused on the task at hand, which is a good football team this week."

Go fer it, Cassy. Hail, we'll take anyone.

Weeden's arm strength is world class, so can't the QB coach work on his other aspects? Is it that Weeden doesn't take chances, or is it that the team's play-calling kept things conservative? Or, was it that the Cowboys had no one open downfield without Dez Bryant in the lineup? I would still like to see Weeden have the opportunity to throw to Dez Bryant.
