lol. Yeah from the 1 yard line, if that is plowed over.

And by the way williams in 05 from the two yard line not only stood him up but stripped the ball, and this season ware stood him up on a 4th and 1.

So bad example try again.

I really wasn't trying to say he got plowed, it really was just a question.

Actually, he set a league record of 19 missed tackles in a single season.

The stat isn't official, but it's measured by STATS, LLC which is a company that compiles stats for ESPN, FoxSports, NFL.com, and many other media companies. Their missed tackle stats aren't available to the public, but they're available to individuals with access, such as the media and sports organizations.

One of the posters here has access to the stats and posted it.

That makes Sean Taylor one of the worst safeties in the history of the league, at least in one respect.
Dropped passes is a hard enough stat to compile, but missed tackles? I've never seen (from somebody other then a Cowboys' fan) say that Taylor misses a lot of tackles. He does have over 110 of them...

the argument is that Taylor makes alot of tackles, but he wiffs on alot too

and who cares if Roy got plowed by Jacobs, didn't you just say that Roy should be on the list of top 5 hardest hitters?

Roy hit Jacobs at the goaline and made him fumble, don't recall Roy getting plowed by Jacobs as you say.

If you can count it, it's Giants @ Dallas 2006, when Jacobs scored a TD. In Roy's defense, it was like a 1 yd TD run.

I am currently making a terry glenn highlight video, and let me say this, Terry glenn has made him look foolish about 6 times. Sean taylor and Commanders fans have this perception that taylor intimidates glenn because of a weak hit taylor put on glenn while he was already in the air.

I have a whole special part of the video dedicated to taylor. Commanders fans wont have much to say here, after they see taylor whiff or completely blow coverage while covering glenn..

anyway just letting you know, since you came here to start a sean taylor is better thread.

Yes, I did. And I wasn't saying that because of one incident, he isn't a hard hitter. It's not like he got plowed by a QB or something. I just wasn't sure if it was Williams or another Cowboy. Just a faulty memory so I asked the question.

I think he got plowed once by Jacobs. He also, as someone else has stated, stood him up and created a fumble. They're even in my book.

He also got plowed by Chris Brown a few years back.

..but other than that, I can't think of too many occasions where Williams didn't get the best of a RB or a WR. He deserves to be on that list.

There are very few players in the NFL that hit as hard as Roy. Very few. Unfortunately, I think ST is one of them...

but ST sucks in coverage.

I hope not, I thought it was a bad list (Julius Peppers, Brian Dawkins) and obviously Cowboys fans want Roy on there, but who else?

Dawk is a huge hitter

it just seems like a loaded question

next time preface the question by stating it's a question aroused by curiousity, so that we know you aren't trying to start trouble

NEWSFLASH: Having your safety have 100+ tackles is not a good thing. It simply means your front seven are not getting the job done.

Regardless, the 2nd highest player was Cato June with 13, so even if they misattributed a tackle or two on Taylor he would have still led the league. Dude, Taylor was almost universally criticized for having a horrible season in 2006.

Oh, and by the way, tackles is an unofficial stat as well that is compiled by STATS LLC. So, it's a bit hypocritical to discredit their missed tackles stat while proclaiming their tackles stat.

I never said such a thing. As a matter of fact, I said that Roy should be on the list. I have never even said that Sean is a harder hitter, much less a better safety. We're NOT starting this debate.

from the article

Sean Taylor, FS, Washington Commanders: He's reckless and plays with no regard for his body. A great hitter has to have no fear of hurting himself and that's the way Taylor plays. He's a physically dominant football player and brings that Ronnie Lott type of aura.

Jesus, I know! I'm not arguing that at all. The Skins' front seven was horrid this year and Taylor HAD to make all those tackles and had to play the run first (since Williams has a run first defense and everyone was running all over the front seven). So he got caught out of position because he was attacking the LOS too much and didn't have any help covering. He had a horrible 2006 season. I know this...

He had to, absolutely had to, play the run because no one else was.
