i was thinking more about (if the big 3 are gone) trading down to mid 20s and taking someone like sly williams and pick up a third and then use our rd 2 or 3 pick to address safety
but, if we really think that vacarro is head and shoulders better than the other safeties, and if he is there at 18, we will want to take him there

That first rounder will be defense or a tackle.
Warmack is going to slide because guys like Jerry are not willing to draft him high.

Schefter believes it "wouldn't be completely shocking" if Warmack were available at the Cowboys' No. 18 overall selection. Warmack is a lock first-rounder, but keep in mind many pegged David DeCastro as a top 10-15 pick last April and he lasted to the Steelers' pick at 24. Guard is not a coveted NFL position

Manwiththeplan;5042178 said:I honestly don't know who I'd take number 1. Likely either Fisher or Joeckel, maybe Sharrif Floyd, but there aren't too many drafts where you look back and say a guard was the top player drafted.
And Warmack is hardly a once in a generation guard. Below averge size and athleticism are definately red flags. All in all, I think he'll be a long time starter for someone, but will never make a pro-bowl.
jnday;5042190 said:I don't see Warmack being below average in size or athletic ability. He may not be the biggest or the most athletic, but that doesn't equal to below average. He is a smash-mouth power guard that plays with an attitude.
