Never underestimate the value of any QB in the NFL that even shows a tiny spark of promise.......the supply is just that tight at any one time there are only maybe a dozen guys that have "it" to any degree.
Even if you are right and sombody makes a claim for him, the Cowboys can always keep him by putting him on their active roster.

You can put him on the PS, then decide what you want to do if a claim is made.

Was thinking the same thing. I see some Romo Moxie. Who has a stronger arm Romo or Rush?
At this point Romo. I think Romos arm was much quicker and passes were more accurate but i may be wrong. Rush has some scrambling ability and avoiding tackles

I'd keep Rush on the roster and stash Moore on IR or wherever. Nobody is claiming Moore but someone might try to snatch Rush. We need Moore's roster spot to keep an additional DE/DT with all the suspensions and injuries there. McCown is worthless, he also should be cut.

My view on pros/cons:
-Good vision
-Gets ball out quickly
-Athletic, good feel for pocket and run opportunities
-Nice wheels
-Poised

cons:
-Tends to throw off back foot, under throws
-Velocity/zip lacks a lot

It doesn't look like the game is too fast for him. Perfect type of QB to develop on your practice squad. I don't think we have to worry about another team putting him on their active roster.

That's the question, isn't it? Cooper still needs development for sure, but teams are looking at a player's ceiling.

For a rookie in his first action you really got to like his quick reads and decision-making. He has far better size and perhaps better athleticism than Kellen Moore. He's looked better than many highly touted rookies in their early action.

It's going to be fun to see this story unfold.

That's what we thought in 2007 about Matt Moore and cut him and kept Brad "noodle" arms Johnson instead. Carolina picked him up and Matt Moore has had a successful career as a backup QB.

the key difference is if we cut cooper, we could lose cooper, but if we cut moore, we wold not lose moore who would simply be a coach/backup

You might have a point here. Moore might be less attractive around the league than Rush.

Here's an excerpt from one top scout:

Processes as quickly as any quarterback I've studied over the last five years and has the anticipation and accuracy to counter his lack of velocity.

How many teams keep 3 QBs on their roster, and if so is it going to be a guy that needs 3-4 years to develop? Serious question. It seems that most teams who keep a 3rd QB want a vet. Was Matt Moore in his first year when he was picked up off the PS. I feel like he had been around a few years.

I'm pretty sure had we cut Brad Johnson in 2007 and kept Matt Moore instead, Johnson would have been available as well.

His last NFL season was with us. He was 38 and his arm was probably as "noodley" as K. Moore's arm. I doubt he would of had many suitors. At worst, we could have easily got someone as good or better as backup than Johnson.
