Every year, more drama!

It's called nostalgia Bruv.

Every generation looks back to the mythical golden age of their youth when things were better.

Back in the early Neolithic era, Ug the caveman was probably complaining that mammoth tasted much better in the good ole Mesolithic days.
That’s good! No doubt! I just think people overreact more now than 40-50 years ago.

Yea, I’m not sure why some fans get defensive about the fact Cowboys have drama ?

I guess it’s that Homer segment which feels the need or their duty to defend any criticism . Lol
It’s not defensive to mention it. It becomes defensive when people overreact just BECAUSE you mention it, and you feel like you have to justify your opinion.

I hear you. Dallas gets drama just like any other team. But ADD to that the EXTRA drama we get as America’s Team.

If Carolina or Jacksonville has a bad trade, there’s drama. The talking heads make a mountain out of a mole hill. Dallas has a bad trade, on par with the others. Honestly, is it mentioned by the pundits more or less?
I guess it depends on how you read his post. If you read it as "drama" meaning the stuff that gets whipped up in the media...then sure there more " drama" when a player holds out in dallas vs say Jacksonville or Tennesse assuming it's a player of equal magnitude.

I read it that we just have bad things happen to us more frequently thN other teams.

Always a soap opera.

I think it’s interesting, but disturbing, that something pops up every year that threatens the success of the team. Holdouts, bad injuries to key players, arrests, bad trades, stupid quotes—drama drama drama. This year it’s disgruntled residents in Oxnard and a potentially DISASTROUS Zach Martin holdout. We’re doooooommed!

Think this year’s drama will hurt us? Think we’ll ever have a drama-free year?
Cowboys fans overexaggerate. That stuff happens to teams all over EVERY year.

Perhaps more posters should just post their opinions without looking over their shoulders as they do it, like wondering what the "haters" or "homers" will say about this or that statement they make. If something is what one believes, spout it and move on, I say. Another not being able to deal with it is their problem to work out. But if one needs buy-in for their opinion however, well then they'll need to justify it when opposed.

It was meant to mean that Dallas gets WAY more negative (and positive) things out of the stuff all teams get. Only nowdays it’s more negative.

But if they always feel the need to reply, doesn’t that make THEM “approval needy” too? If I have a problem posting my opinion while “looking over my shoulder”, what’s your excuse? You always seem to have a “counter” answer.

Feeling "like you have to justify your opinion," as you put it, is the need to reply after someone counters. Like in here, people have merely countered your thread-starting opinion correctly pointing out that what you brought up happens to all teams yet you got defensive calling them over-reactionary before then moving the goal post on your own thread OP. Then it was your typical, "the media makes a bigger deal about the Cowboys" spiel. No kidding, Sherlock. We all know this. We don't go posting over and over about it though. Again, it's concern over what the "haters" and "homers" say about who/what you support. It bothers you, so you post about it pretending it doesn't. Mere observation. For example, I bet the "prove me right and reply because you always have to have the last word" is right around the corner from you to me, right? Again, observation.

My observation is that you’re a confrontational, aggressively macho know it all that needs to explain everything, then pass judgement.

I don’t remember asking for your opinion, but your need to counter is showing.

Okay.

(See how easy that was with no justification necessary? Lol.)

It won't. Way overblown story.

Jerry says and does stupid things. We all agree.

He isn't stupid enough to let this become an issue.
Even I will give Jerry the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Don't let me down, Jerry, like I know you are tempted to. Just don't.

Wait.....you ARE the original poster.

HA HA HA! I thought I was just talking to some knob that misread the op's statement. But it seems I'M the knob!

Well....even though you ARE the OP....I still think you're misreading your own post. Sometimes other people (like TheGreatCowboysBamaLakerFan) know what you're thinking even more than you do! :)

I don't know about more drama. I think people were much more shrill when we hadn't won a playoff for X years. Now that it has moved to won a NFCCG in X years there has not been nearly as much teeth gnashing.

I think the lockout years were far more of a time of troubles too.

The NFL is built on drama. Since the beginning. And you are on a fanboard where everything is discussed to death. There is a ton of drama around every team's starting QB, except maybe Mahomes. That's the way it's always been. Drama drives up ratings.

It wouldn’t be the Cowboys if there wasn’t some drama, especially this time of year with camp about to open.
