that will be 4 first RD QB picks in the last 10 years then,i dont think even the browns are that stupid.

And the Lions took 4 WRs from 2003-2007. And had they used your logic, they would have missed out on the one worth taking.

And to be honest, Brady Quinn was such a long time ago, that really should not effect their thinking. At least with Weeden and Manziel you *could* make the argument that a better supporting cast *could* have given them a chance, but how many people are still in the building that made the Quinn pick.

Will the Cowboys 2 training camp look at the Spread offense QB from West Texas make them look at Goff and Lynch different? They have to sit back as ask themselves why D.Carr is the only Spead off. Qb to be able to progress quickly in the nfl to this point. These kids come out of the college ranks will all kinds of yards and stats to their name..........but really struggle for the most part grasping the needs of a NFL QB.

If the store is out of stock of QB's of the future do you get a generic QB with your first pick just in case? Are we really that good at coaching QB's up, our history looks dubious. If the powers that be see something in these top five I will back them up but to take a QB because the fans want one is Jerry 101.

of course not but if a QB proves out to the scouts during the off season and you need
the most important position on the team; you do what ? Draft another position?

If we win more than 5 games next year which is more than likely, we will be drafting much later and when we finish the season Romo will be 37. So if we wanted a QB next draft it would be a QB ranked lower than Goff or Lynch this year. So we're right back at square one but with an older injury prone QB, only now we don't have a backup 1st round QB with a year of NFL experience under his belt.
What I'm getting at is NOW is the time to figure out the QB of the future situation. Waiting IMO would be disastrous.

why is this even a debate

I so agree with you on this statement, IMO the QB talent do not warrant consideration with the fourth pick. I am with them full tilt if they see something worthy of developing, and will support them for BPA if that is not the case.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Here is my full list that I use to watch the games as of New Years eve I do not want our top five pick to be a QB. Some of these guys are for next year's draft and worthy of watching so you can see how the field really stacks.
Connor Cook
Paxton Lynch
Jared Goff
Gunner Kiel
Christian Hackenberg
Carson Wentz
JT Barrett
Cody Kessler
Trevone Boykin
Cardale Jones
Everett Golson
Kevin Hogan
Dak Prescott
Joshua Dobbs
Malik Zaire
Patrick Towles

feel free to remove Boykin from your list......he decided he would rather spend the weekend in jail, rather than play against Oregon.

This will probably be the best opportunity for the Cowboys to go get Romo's replacement.
Dallas cannot screw this up.

Go get Goff - I find it ironic that he is generally the same height/weight measurable as Aikman. Goff also as a strong, accurate arm as well.

That was a very expensive night for that QB, all he had to do was walk away. Ego is a crazy trait.

well I don't drink, but he was apparently intoxicated. I guess he is an aggressive drunk. BTW, where the heck was his backup......I am shocked that there was not anyone there to help keep him or any of the other players out of trouble.

His WR was there with him initially, they all left and then he decided to come back, that is when the damage was done.

well I don't like TCU or Boykin, but I am very upset at what he has done to the Alamo Bowl. I take pride in the fact that the Alamo Bowl was one of the top bowls, ratings-wise and competition-wise over the last decade. Boykin took a lot of air out of that balloon with his stupidity. I honestly feel that Oregon is going to absolutely take TCU out behind the woodshed and beat em like a red-headed stepchild.

BTW, I need to keep an eye on that smurf WR from Oregon. Apparently, he can flat out burn all over the field.

Darren Carrington is a special package it should be fun to see who can defend him.
I too am disappointed in Boykin it really took some of the shine off this wonderful event. I look forward to the spin come the combine from his agents.

My mistake Carrington(failed drug test and was suspended for a while) is 6'2 and Addison is a diminutive 5'10"(sure) 190. I really like Carrington and Bralon is the one from Texas that played QB in High School with jets for legs and actually catches with his hands. I actually thought the other receivers were going to overshadow Bralon but he is probably the one that gets drafted.
