Excessive Celebration

They freaking allow the Lambeu Leap and Miles' jump is excessive? You got to be kidding me.

Just another example of the lack of discipline. Each player should have known that at this time we cannot afford to make any mistakes and celebrating a TD is stupid anyway.

how is it a double standard if what Peterson did is a noted exception to the rule? Did the league somehow foresee this as a way to screw us?

Bottom line is we got screwed last week and this week too. How does a referee KNOW a player is praying or doing anything similar to a prayer? Do they guess at it? I've always thought the argument that there was a conspiracy against the Cowboys was childisn, but after today, it makes me wonder. That penalty against Austin that cost us a TD? Yea, there was contact, but receivers and DBs seem hand fight down the field on just about every play. Yet, we get a call that cost us a TD. The celebration penalties are just pathetic. That interference call against Jenkins was bull because the ball was not catchable. Way over the head of the receiver. We NEVER seem to get a call.

the thing i dont get is that this team isnt dirty, doesnt take cheap shots, doesnt go over board on celebrating, by all accounts is a 'nice' team we help the other teams players up, we hand the balls to the ref, so what is the deal? did jerry not slip the refs money this year and other teams did? do the refs really have a dallas bias? and why so much more so now? false starts you have to call but with flo gone we dont get as many of those so they are making it up else where?

There is a bias, and that's not me just being frustrated. It happens allt he time in officiating. It's kind of like we are the Rasheed Wallace of football. Everybody knows we're one of the most penalized teams and play sketchy defense, so they're looking to make that call. The refs are just making the Dallas Cowboys they're self fufilling profecy.

You will rarely see Pittsburgh/Baltimore getting called for the close defensive calls like that. Because they are known as tough defenses and the refs give them more lee way.

dude we get that you think we should celebrate, but guess what? TDs are hard to come by, you should be allowed to celebrate

After what happened last week, why celebrate at all? Shake hands, pat one another on the back and get ready for the next drive.

To those who are falling over themselves to blame us, read the definition of fan, you are supposed to support your team when it is screwed over.

As much as I think that our 'boys are being hosed with these excessive clelebration penalties, I really wonder why they're even celebrating at all.... They were 1-3 (and now 1-4)!! Enough with this cutesy celebration stuff. I need intensity on this team. I want MEANNESS!!! This team is too frikkin' nice. If they were winning, I wouldn't mind but sheeit ENOUGH now. The attitudes GOT to change!

Michael Irvin did a 30 second dance after every 6 yard catch and fans called it showing "fire and passion". When this team celebrates after a huge TD it's "being nice"?

I would like to hear the official ruling why what Miles did in the endzone is against the rules, but I doubt we'll get one. I doubt the officials even know. They didn't know the official wording of the rule last week.

Did Jerry do something 2 the NFL or something cuz it just seems like the refs ar trying to screw us

Want to know why?
Check out this story! This is why we get the calls. It was reported that on this day, Tag told other owners that Jerry Jones would never win another SB. I still believe it is still in effect.

Peterson did not point to the sky! He was looking and pointing at the fans in the end zone. Not even close to praying.

But I still agree with those of you that said it was stupid to even come close to any action that would draw a penalty in the endzone.

In a situation like that, you don't even take that chance. You don't leave that open for interpretation even the least little bit. Don't leave it in the hands of a ref to make that decision what is excessive celebration; If you do,you end up with the flag you saw today. If you don't see the idiocy of what was done, then theres no hope.

there was no idiocy to what was done except for the flag being thrown. Miles didn't go to the ground at all, therefore Miles was not breaking any NFL rule. it's really pretty easy to understand, actually. so, why don't you?

You can't orchestrate a celebration involving 2 or more players. That's part of the rule also and that is why it was called. Weak call, but that was their rationale.

that was no more orchestrated than a chest bump or high five

I dont think it was planned, I think Miles was jumping RW then noticed Roy was about to "hook 'em" and he decided to leap frog him. That is what I thought as soon as I saw it.

Just plain nuts that the official felt like he needed to throw the flag. :bang2:

On another note, I did like the low-key, handshake, don't even look at the other guy celebration after this.

Well I think Jeff Fisher should take this one on...

Why is the Lambeau Leap exempt?

I'm sure he would have an issue if players were jumping into our scoreboard at 90+ feet above the field...

Because Triplette's crew blew the call last week. I wouldn't have flagged Peterson either because it wasn't excessive or unsportsmanlike - he didn't pretend to take a nap, or do a snow angel, or anything.

We got screwed last week. Plain and simple.

My favorite end zone celebration was when four players got into a circle and one rolled the dice and one got up with da cash and then they all did a booty jump. Man those were the days when we let men be idiots. I miss dos days.

I tell you what. The refs didnt lose this game for us but these calls against Dallas are CONSTANT.

Make me hard pressed to continue watching NFL if these clowns are all we get for refs anymore.

They clearly control the game WAYYY to much and it's taking all of the fun of being a fan completely out of the game for me. :(

Amen.

Thats another blown call on Austin. Jumping over a man after a TD is not unsportsmanlike conduct. I can see if he said something bad to the other team, and showed some lewed jesters. But come on. Jumping over our own player is not unsportsman like. It shouldn't have been a big deal and its another case where the refs are too flag happy.

Yes I really think that refs call us for too much even though they are ticky tack fouls. But honestly, every team does the same thing and yet they aren't penalized. Therefore, I question the refs and the NFL.
