Welp. I was born with my handle so's my ma gave me a boys name.............

Tomorrow, I go for a consultation with a hearing specialist... it's my theory that I have blockages causing my hearing loss, something that can be surgically repaired... all those years standing in front of a guitar amp had NOTHING to do with it, I'm sure...

I'm sure nobody really cares about my petty health issues, but I had some REALLY good news on that front today, and I'm pretty pumped up...

The hearing specialist examined my ears and nose, stuck tubes down them and looked around (not the most comfortable thing)... lo and behold, I do NOT need hearing aids, I do NOT need surgery...

Turns out I have two different problems-- in my right ear, I have an ear infection that I must have had for 15 years or more... some prescription ear drops should clear that up... in my left ear, I have a sinus infection causing the loss... a week or two of Nasonex ought to clear that up, too... he also prescribed an antibiotic... the doctor tells me that in a month or so, he'll be ready to test my hearing, and he's betting I'm gonna be pretty close to normal...

Well, as close to normal as I'm capable of getting, anyway... the doctor was surprised that I'd never noticed any problems with either of those infections, but I didn't...

Five years ago, I had my hearing tested, and was told I needed hearing aids, and the price would be 4 grand EACH... but that was a doctor affiliated with a hearing aid company; if any of you ever needs to have your hearing checked, I can't stress strongly enough that you should find yourself a doctor who is not affiliated with such companies...

But that was only the beginning... it was time to refill my blood pressure prescription, and after like 5 years of taking Lotrel, they FINALLY came out with the generic... instead of paying 50 bucks a month (my copay after insurance), I'll now be paying TEN bucks a month...

It was a very good day to be the Bear... :bounce:

Actually, right now I need somebody to put me out of my misery... one of my two false front teeth (knocked them out when I was 13) has gotten abscessed, and I'm in some severe discomfort... my doctor has prescribed antibiotics and Motrin, but Motrin ain't about to touch this pain... I can only hope that the amoxycillin (sp?) will knock down the infection and thus reduce the discomfort...

The amoxycillin seems to be doing the job, the abscess is much less uncomfortable today... I may live to make it that appointment with the oral surgeon Wednesday...

I know, this will come as a great disappointment to some of my antagonists, y'all will just have to console yourself by contemplating the discomfort I'll have for a while after they yank those damned teeth...

Well, mine mostly came from Tony Romo's story. How he was a noodle-armed, undrafted rookie who'd never be anything more than a back up - if that. So, the saying holds true... on any given Sunday, even a undrafted FA has a shot to become a productive starter (and pro bowler).

And, I'm such a nuisance to the board that I could be banned on any given Sunday.
