I remember there being a thread on this before but it's a slow time and there are lots of new members so I thought I'd start another one.

Mine is odd because I'm not named Bob nor would anybody use the word "flob" to describe me (I'm not sure what it means, but I picture a really fat person which is the opposite of my body type). There was a time in high school when I found the name Bob to be really funny because it was so generic. When I was trying to come up with a screen name for another I remembered seeing graffiti written on a wall of my school that said "don't mess with the flob", which was kind of weird because it made no sense. So I combined my love of Bob with the flob and came up with a (very anonymous) screen name.

I was a tuna fish in my former life. Consequently, I was a Miami Dolphins fan in those days too. This also explains my fear of nets and balls of string.

Lurker was my handle since the early days of the online world. Cause I would just lurk at the boards at first. I started posting around the 1993 season.

You have bad teeth too?? I have an appointment on Wednesday with an oral surgeon, preparing to lose all my upper teeth, and all but 4 in the back on each side of my lower teeth... I'm told I'm forunate that I'll be able to save those 8 lower teeth, that way I can get a partial, which will be anchored to those remaining teeth... they tell me that it's rather tough getting a full lower plate to remain in place, on account of the soft palate (as opposed to the hard palate your upper plate attaches to)...

Actually, the teeth aren't really the problem, the dentist tells me I have inordinately deep roots... it's my gums that are really, really bad... I'm both dreading having it done (after all, I've had these teeth for nearly 55 years) and looking forward to it... I'm tired of my mouth bothering me all the time, even though I know there's some poetic justice in that, what with the way my mouth bothers others so frequently... LOL...

Tomorrow, I go for a consultation with a hearing specialist... it's my theory that I have blockages causing my hearing loss, something that can be surgically repaired... all those years standing in front of a guitar amp had NOTHING to do with it, I'm sure... :D

Ah well, at least my diabetes is now firmly under control, been getting lots of readings under 100 these last few weeks... a bad day is still under 120... curiously, the diabetes is turning out to be a good thing right now, because my doctor has written up a statement that I need those teeth extracted for my overall health's sake (that gum infection can get into your bloodstream and cause all kinds of problems, including cardiac problems, and this is exacerbated in diabetics)... with that, United Healthcare is gonna pick up a big chunk of the cost of the dental work, even though I don't have dental insurance...

I keep telling myself that by the time my birthday rolls around (in early August), I'll have all this health crap behind me... my doctor does tell me that other than these rather minor issues, the overall state of my health is pretty good (IOW, I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in)... in particular, he's impressed with my cardiovascular health... so if I live, I'll be better soon...

well, I'm a huge Seinfeld fan, and I feel Bob Sacamano is appropos to use as a forum handle because he is one of Kramer's "unseen friends", and only appears in conversation w/ Kramer and Jerry, which is sort of like posting on an Internet forum, I'm here, but you don't actually see me

Actually, right now I need somebody to put me out of my misery... one of my two false front teeth (knocked them out when I was 13) has gotten abscessed, and I'm in some severe discomfort... my doctor has prescribed antibiotics and Motrin, but Motrin ain't about to touch this pain... I can only hope that the amoxycillin (sp?) will knock down the infection and thus reduce the discomfort...

I keep telling myself that this will be over soon, but right now if the Lord came for me, I don't think I'd put up much of a fight... :(

I'm hurting so bad I'm feeling sorry for myself, and that DEFINITELY isn't like me...
