Ezekiel Elliott real contract numbers

5 years - $63 million guaranteed. 28 years old. Nothing guaranteed after 5 years. They can keep paying him $14 million per year after 5 years (a bargain if he is still a top RB). And they can cut him after 5 years at no impact to the cap. This is a brilliant deal for both sides. Congrats to us Cowboys fans!!!

Those don't sound like details to me. How much is he getting per year for the first 3 years? Does it start after his rookie contract ends or does the 6 years start now?

Remember when you gave me the business about my opinion that Elliott won't miss any games? ;)

I don't recall that at all. I never really argued that he would definitely miss games. I said if I were Jerry, I'd make him miss games if he didn't come down off his demands.

Do you have me confused with someone else? Maybe I did, but I don't recall that at all.

All I have to do is watch the Cowboy/Ram playoff game to know what value Zeke has in this offense. They stopped him and Dak had open WR's all day long. With the plays he had available, we were right there with them even though our defense could not find the RB. Could have easily won. The metric of yards of separation for Dallas Receivers that day was in the 3 yrd range - it was crazy. And they tell me Zeke did not show up - they are really clueless!

Nobody talks about Zeke vs the Rams if one horrible safety makes a few plays!!

No biggie, I just remember the convo and you mentioning me replying to another fan. All in good fun, I took heavy fire.

I thought it was 50 Million guaranteed?

Dude it doesn’t matter how much Zeke makes. He will not honor his contract, it’s not worth the paper it’s written on. In a few years if Zeke is still in the league and not suspended, he will hold out again. He is constant drama and a distraction.

At that point, you probably have a bunch more leverage. Right now, unless the rookie exploded in the 1st games, Dallas had/has no leverage. Might of worked out in their favor pushing some of the cap hit into the 2yrs he was still under contract.

Some more infos about his contract:

SB: 7.5 mils

His 2019 salary comes down from $7,940,655 to $6,339,655.

2025 and 2026 are clearly junk years thrown on to make the overall salary look bigger.

So, there's no guaranteed money remaining on his contract after year four, and his prorated bonus would run out after the 2023 season.

This is, in effect, a five year, $50.05M contract.
