I truly believe the front office has failed us this offseason...here's my reasons.

1. Jason Garrett and his staff got a free pass for last years debacle. its totally inexcusable that this staff could not win without Romo. and whoever the genius was that decided we needed to trade for Cassel is an idiot.
2. The single most glaring need was a decent vet qb after last seasons disgrace, even S.Jones said after the season that backup QB would be a top priority. No action has been taken. None whatsoever!!
3. Free Agency - was a big strike out, we netted nothing other than maybe Thornton to replace Hayden. Mayowa was also signed when the Raiders decided to not to match our offer. Morris was signed also, but was he really needed?
4. The Draft - 1st off Elliott, I like the pick, I don't mind the pick, but in all fairness, we probably should've traded down and tried to maximize that pick, we just have to many needs not too mention we need depth just about everywhere other than OL. The Smith pick was a disaster, one can hope he recovers, just too risky of a pick for us with the current roster we have. i can stomach the rest of the draft.
5. RoMac - why do we continue to put up with this guys crap?
6. Greg Hardy - It amazes me that we continue to turn our back on him, he can be signed to a team friendly one year deal and INSTANTLY be our best DL. It should be a no-brainer since both of our starting DE's are suspended for the first 4 games.

those are just a few thoughts off the top of my head...i am still optimistic about this season, but truthfully a lot of things will have to go our way...with the #1 thing being if this team can stay relatively healthy.

4-12 left a bad taste in all of our mouths. As it should...but the farther I have gotten away from the 2015 season the more I see clearly and objectively. Looking forward to the start of TC and the season.

Man the offseason is LONG after a horrible season! Lol!

I think not signing Hardy was a mistake too. I mean we got thru the worse part of the media attacking him his first year here, and then we let him go? And please dont say it's about missing meetings, because we still got the idiots Mcclain and Gregory here

I see this thread every year. The Dallas front office has never had a successful off season.

Ok....let me ask you one question....So if Romo was to get injured...what would be different this time around?

Thing is, "decent" vet QBs don't exist. Most veteran QBs resign with their own team if the offer is out there. It makes sense, if they are willing to accept a backup job, why switch teams for similar money and learn a new playbook, build new chemistry with your teammates and win over new coaches? Fact is, the last two years...every decent QB either resigned with their own team or went somewhere else to compete to start.

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/freeagents2016QB.php

Take a look, this is what was out there this year. Brian Hoyer is the highest ranked QB that accepted a backup job. Is Brian Hoyer better than what we have? Possibly but he wouldn't win much without Romo either. Hoyer's background is much like Moore, he just played more.

Regardless, this is July...absolutely 100% impossible to judge our offseason. In fact, I would rank this offseason above 2014 in every possibly way.

Haha. Hardy.

Greg Hardy may not even play in the NFL this season.

In a league where pass rushers are a premium, that should tell you all you need to know.

Says a lot of people dont get he wasnt charged.

It's not about the charges. A lot of players accused of DV are still playing.

It's because he's a terrible teammate.

Well his teammates always seem to speak highly of him. The panthers players wanted him back.
Even if he was a terrible teammate, he's not the first and certainly not the last, yet others continue to play. Only reason Hardy isnt playing is because people dont believe in innocent until proven guilty

He had interest last season outside of Dallas when the PR consequences were even bigger than they are now. His availability has zero to do with his charges. Teams that get less media attention than the Cowboys would love to have a pass rusher of his quality, thing is that no coaches want the headache (yet).

what proof do you have that he was a terrible teammate? I'll tell you who a terrible teammate is...One who fails drug tests.

The "rumors" that have come out of VR aren't flattering. And the fact that no team in the NFL wants him leads you to believe they're more fact than rumor.

His teammates are professionals. They're not going to dog their former teammate in the media. And yeah, he isn't the first or the last. That should tell you all you need to know. He's still unsigned and it looks like no team in the NFL is going to sign him.

I was very hopeful about Hardy. However, the term locker room cancer and the like can't be underestimated in how it affects a team. I've often went back and forth, going back to T. O. , but I think it is a very real cause of a disjointed team and that can help lead to a worse team.

The constant twitter rants, the sideline altercations, the undermining of his head coach, rumors that he was out drinking and non existent at practice once the pictures leaked.

There is also supposedly a lot of information out there that has not even leaked out regarding his behavior last season. I would assume that word travels fast around NFL circles. I am sure teams have been interested and inquired with people inside Carolina and Dallas headquarters but he is still available.

I don't hate the guy, I would't mind if he came back but acting like he was a model citizen last season is over the top. He was in a perfect situation to rebrand himself last season. He could've spoke out against DV, kept out of the news and been a model citizen but instead he played the innocent and "me against the world" card on social media and completely disregarded the image that he sent to his team and coach. Before he even took a snap, he was in the news for comments on the world trade center and Brady's wife. Sure, he was kidding but he was in no position to be kidding.

Greg Hardy could've been the top paid defender in the league right now if he played his cards right last season but his immaturity did him in.

Get it through your head. Hardy was neither a good player for us nor was he working hard or even trying.

Anyone who wants to reward that has no business criticizing the F.O.

Ok....let me ask you one question....So if Romo was to get injured...what would be different this time around?

All the top free agent backups resigned with their teams or signed for too much money. No in free agency.

In the draft the top two QBs were selected before Dallas's selection. Dallas could of given away this years draft and next years to get a QB that would not make any difference if Romo got injured. And they tried to get Lynch, but failed. Lynch also would not make a difference if Romo went down.

Last year Dallas had what were considered good backups in Weeden and Cassel, but when Romo went down, so did Dallas.

So if Romo gets injured the only difference the Dallas front office could have made during the off season was to over pay for a backup QB(Matt Moore, Colt McCoy, or Chase Daniels) not knowing if the results would be different than 2015.

I'm not going to kill the front office for believing in Kellen Moore and drafting Dak Prescott.

I'm not trying to argue whether he could be a model citizen or not...Its freaking football, we could sign him to a one year team friendly deal and get us through this season....again he would instantly be our best DL.
