FEATURED FA agent thread

I think by the time of the Urban signing, people were desperate for something good to say.

The way I interpreted things around here was that Watkins was awful and Urban was solid.

I'm not at all sure why that may be.

I'm just hoping these were guys that Quinn had his eye on and thinks he can put together a unit that plays cohesively by adding them to what we currently have.

I hate to take the bait again, but its not like I can go root for another team, so hope is what we have.

Hey let's face it, many times this team has been overhyped by fans and talking heads because it looked great on paper, but turned in a serious underachievement of a season.

Maybe the opposite applies, I dont know.

The only thing I truly believe is that the year I finally am fully fed up and turn my back is the same year they put it all together.....and all just to spite me lol.

I can't see rooting for a different team, but we've been burned by this free-agent philosophy for years now. I used to think that this is the year that it works, but after multiple years with that hope, I no longer believe it. We're using a failed philosophy, so I expect another failed result. That doesn't mean I don't hope I'm wrong, I just don't have expectations of success where in previous years I would buy into the possibility that this player had potential that he would reach or this aging player had at least one good year left. I can't buy it anymore.

I had hoped that the Joneses wouldn't either, but they seem committed to doing FA this way despite the results of it. It's their team, so they can do with it what they will, but I just can't go into a season where they are doing this feeling anything will change for the better. Sure, we will improve some in the draft, but other teams will have that same opportunity while also actually improving in FA instead of just maintaining. I don't see any way to catch up when we're not doing the same.

Watch us lose all three safeties! Why are they waiting until next week on the hurt ones?
They have to see them in person to make sure there is a decent chance that they can play.

Which Achilles did Kazee and Hooker blow? Maybe they can transplant the good one in Kazee to Hooker?

Jones family is on vacation. McClay is shopping for the groceries and whichever of the 3 will take a minimum deal will get one. It's now past the 1st week of FA and the FO is playing
with house money. Players are not going to get a big contract from Dallas cause they are strapped for cap this year. Too many big and bad deals have sapped up the cash. It's up
to the draft now to fill out a team for this season.

Thats what I’m hoping for. Sign all three.

I agree. Would be awesome to get Hooker and Kazee at S, convert Neal to LBer. All should be somewhat reasonable considering their injury concerns. Give them all 1-2 year, incentive based deals that compensate them fairly for their production.

Adding those 3 guys would significantly shift the draft and create some flexibility. We still need to add CB talent— and we should go there early— but overall, adding some help at S will go a long way towards stabilizing the secondary— as Diggs, Brown, and Lewis are all competent CBs.

Here’s to hoping the FO rolls the dice and decides to throw talent (albeit coming off injury) and numbers at a significant position of weakness on this roster
