FEATURED FA agent thread

Ravens get Zeitler. Good pickup for them.

That would have been a great signing for Dallas as the deal averages $7.5M/year for a top rated OG who could have manned the LG spot and paired with Tyron Smith to not only protect Dak's blind side but further improve the passing and running game. However, this is a move by a team serious about winning unlike Dallas.

The new Montana/Young...

It’s a good and bad situation.

It’s good because he can be a bus driver and let the defense do their job. It’s bad that a majority of their stars are on rookie deals so the landscape of that D will be different in two seasons

It’s funny people talk about Dallas paying their guys.

Meanwhile Washington, New York and Philly all have their QBs, RBs and WR on rookie deals lol

Well technically, yeah, Philly's QB is on his rookie deal but when you factor in they are eating up a massive chunk of cap space on the QB position because of the dead money hit on Wentz, Hurts ain't all that cheap.

Dalton may be coming to a Commander uniform near you just in time to kick our butts twice next year.

You realize that the Cowboys could not negotiate with him right?

You realize that the Cowboys could not negotiate with him right?

Care to explain that seeing as how the Giants released him making him a free agent thereby allowing Baltimore to sign him?

"The 31-year-old offensive lineman was released by the Giants last week, allowing him to sign before the open of free agency, which begins Wednesday, March 17 at 4 p.m. ET. The NFL's negotiating window for free agents opens Monday at noon ET."

Huh? Why were the Ravens able to negotiate with him but the Cowboys were not?

That being said, while he would have been a nice addition, with the limited cap resources we have and the massive holes we have on defense, I am not sure it would have been the best use of cap dollars. People are bizarrely obsessed with just pouring dollars and high picks into the OL as if that magically solves all our issues. We've tried to build a SB winner around the OL given all the high picks, big contracts we've thrown at the OL and it has won us nothing because in doing so, we've had an imbalanced team that has largely sucked on defense for a decade.

No it's cause the FO is on their yacht and free agency is for suckers

lol

Admittedly, a few years ago I was a sucker myself thinking that each year would be different............... they'd recognize their issues and hit FA smartly and not just sift through the bargain bin a week into FA. Eventually I realized that if you keep hitting me in the face with a cast iron pan, it's gonna hurt.

At this point, the safe assumption here is watch the bigger names and even a good chunk of the mid-tier guys that can help go to other teams and start paying attention to FA for the Cowboys around next Wednesday. Despite the clear and utter failure of their strategy in FA, they will continue to do it they way they do it because that's how Jerry rolls.

yeah, good for us because they have no real QB, bad for them because they have no real QB....

Not to mention our offense is elite with CWill at LG. I know he's not a world beater, but why fix what ain't broken? Our defense couldn't stop a two legged dog from running on them. By all means, let's upgrade the offense so we can average 35 points a game while the defense gives up 36.

You won't even recognize this team by this evening.
