why is that fantasy land?

why do you people feel like this is unrealistic?

we will have over 30 million to play with if we get rid of Flo, Rivera, and Fabini.....over 30 million...

Steinbach - 6 yr 30 million (16 million guaranteed)
Pashos - 6 yr 24 million (12 million guaranteed)
Dielman - 6 yr 24 million (12 million guaranteed)

Flozell blows

1-Colombo
2-Kosier
3-Gurode
4-Flozell
5-Rivera

Next year I want our OL to look like this

RT-Colombo, McQuistan
RG-Steinbach, Procter
C-Gurode, Draft Pick
LG-Dielman,Kosier
LT-Pashos, Draft Pick

i agree with the first part

next yr tho i think this would be more enticing to me

lt-draft pick , or a guy like mike gandy,poshos
lg-kosier
C-kyle young
rg-gurode
rt-colombo

Read my lips (or words) If you get a guard in FA and in the Draft, a Tackle in the draft, and the best passrusher you can find, this team will be super bowl bound, book it!
A great line will allow you to have Solid receivers (not great) and great pass rush will allow you to have an average secondary.

I totally agree with moving Gurode to RG, but I don't like Kosier as a starter.. He will make an excellent rotation guy though in case of injury.
Go out and draft the biggest strongest with some movement guy you can draft.

Dom Capers would be a solid DC...much better than Zimmer.

Our draft will be dictated by what happens in March and early April...whoever we cut and sign then will determine what we look for in the draft...so with that being said....

Remove
QB Drew Bledsoe
OG Marco Rivera
OT Jason Fabini
OT Flozell Adams
FB Lousaka Polite
LB Al Singleton
S Keith Davis
CB Jacques Reeves

Add FAs
QB Tim Rattay
OG Eric Steinbach
OG Kris Dielman
OT Tony Pashos
DT Terdell Sands
LB Adalius Thomas or DE Dwight Freeney (depending on 3-4 or 4-3 scheme)

Keep FAs
DE Stephen Bowen
DE Kenyon Coleman
OT Marc Colombo
WR Patrick Crayton
S Abram Elam
LB Ryan Fowler
LB Junior Glymph
C Andre Gurode
C Al Johnson
CB Nathan Jones
LS L.P. Ladouceur
P Mat McBriar
TE Brett Pierce
DE Jeremiah Ratliff

Add
new DC (Zimmer must go)
OL Coach (Alex Gibbs, Pat Hill, Mike Tice, etc)

2007 OL before Draft
C-Gurode, Johnson
G-Steinbach, Dielman, Kosier, Procter
T-Colombo, Pashos, McQuistan

With this I think we can go this route

1- DT Amobi Okoye Louisville - 6-1, 317, 5.15
2- CB/S Aaron Ross Texas - 6-1, 192, 4.55
3- OT Doug Free NIU - 6-7, 302, 5.10
4- CB Travarous Bain Hampton - 6-0, 175, 4.40
5- LB Zak DeOssie Brown - 6-4, 240, 4.70
6- WR Aaron Fairooz Central Arkansas - 6-6, 218, Great size, strong and excellent hands
7- DE/LB Marques Murrell Appalachian St. - 6-2, 245
7- OL Ed McCarthey Yale - 6-5, 302, can play C, G, T, solid pass and run blocker
7- TE Zac Herold Nebraska-Omaha - 6-6, 269, excels as blocker and receiver

i say keep flo, he was coming off knee surgery with minimal time i think he is still a good tackle, not great but good. and forget ross he's to much like henry plus he will go first round. Id rather draft an OL with the first 2 picks in the draft: a guard and a tackle

i dont know about any of the guys you want the Cowboys to draft except Aaron Ross. Ross is incredibly overrated. He gets burned A LOT.

That makes him the perfect fit in the Dallas secondary :laugh2:

Targets--

Big $$$$

Adalius Thomas OLB
Eric Steinbach G
Floyd Womack G
Cory Redding DE

Good Value

Chris Kelsay, OLB Solid kid, outstanding motor, athletic enough to play outside in the 3-4.

Antwan Peek, OLB Not quite as intense as Kelsay, but better speed

Robaire Smith, NT Probably could use another ten pounds on his arse. Could fit in as backup to JFERG

Rien Long, DE Could replace Coleman should he walk.

Rod Hood, CB Improvement over Glenn, and could challenge Henry

Shaun McDonald WR Good speed, excellent route runner.

We aren't losing Flozell, and we won't replace THREE o-linemen. I think we will add guys but we won't get rid of three of them.

As long as they address and upgrade the o-line this off-season, I'll be happy.

I'll be livid if they do nothing.

prepare to be livid b/c parcells likes proctor to replace rivera and they obviously do not like signing big name big money o-lineman. We will sign just some OT and some OG for depth if we are lucky

If Parcells stays, don't expect a big name DC to come here, knowing that a new coaching staff will be coming in next year. It will most likely be Zimmer or Bowles at DC, and more aggravation for all of us again next year.

he got cut in dallas because of age, and costing dallas plays right?

flo = no lateral movement, and if u dont babysit him with fasano in his backside, he gets destroyed. gone

rivera = gae has taken tis toll, but theres no excuse for the amount of false starts and holding penalties he makes. gone

7 mil cap room > flo&rivera
I think trying to overhaul 3 of OLine spots in the offseason may be a bit much. Adams will be released imo after 07.

Kelsay and Peek are intriguing and should be cheap.

Living in Toronto, I see Kelsay a far bit and can tell you he looks like he would be better suited as an outside lb in the 3-4 than as a full-time DE in the 4-3 where he is now.
He would be an immense help to the pass rush as well.

We will prolly trade all our first day picks for like a hundred and fifty 7th round picks which we will use on nothing but OT's LOL

Anthony Henry to FS, Watkins goes to the bench

DRAFT

1- DE/OLB Jarvis Moss Florida - 6-6, 265, 4.60 he looked like Charles Haley in the BCS title game, but I am thinking he could be more of a Derrick Thomas type for us
2- CB/PR Aaron Ross Texas - 6-1, 192, 4.55 excellent in press coverage and a dangerous punt returner
3- RB Chris Henry Arizona - 6-1, 233, 4.35 huge back, very good in pass protection, little mileage on his tread
4- CB Travarous Bain Hampton - 6-0, 175, 4.40
5- ILB Zak DeOssie Brown - 6-4, 248, 4.58 - son of Steve DeOssie, intelligent and tough player
7- C Lyle Sendlein Texas - 6-5, 305, 5.35 Big, mean Center....great pickup if he is there in the 7th
7- OL Ed McCarthey Yale - 6-5, 302, can play C, G, T, solid pass and run blocker
