Weird hire. Retread coach who was not impressive in his first stint as HC. His defenses are good but not amazing.

Maybe he wasn’t ready to be HC back in the day but Atlanta thinks he is now.

yup, if u gonna hire a retread, wouldn't you hire BB? Weird indeed. What lofty achievement has Raheem done? This hire seems like a safe hire, not the bold one they sorely needed.

When is the last time an NFL franchise hired a new head coach over 70 years old? BB is older than a pile of rocks. The Falcons’ owner might be dumb, but apparently he’s not stupid.

Belichick on the outside looking in now.

The league is moving on with out him.
Perhaps so but imagine if the other coaches fail & BB goes somewhere & succeeds. Passing up the GOAT could be quite embarrassing.

**BB has quite of few strict conditions he would consider ( city, owner, GM, QB ). Notice only one team bothered to interview him.
If being the GOAT doesn't earn you some ability to be selective, what's the point?

It's an issue of age. Any team that hires Belichick knows he's a short-timer. Most teams want a longer term solution, ideally.
There have been rumors all year. I assume Kraft has had dialogue with Bill about the situation for a while.

If I am not mistake...Kraft and Bill got into it over Bill wanting to release Brady. He reluctantly did what Bill wanted if the rumors are true.

20 year straight success doesnt mean run it into the ground after its over...but I would assume Bill would have been tipped off and would have been planning an exit? No?

Seems like Bill would have something lined up. Either he does and its covert(Bills if they release McDermott?)...or Bill got caught off guard and is struggling to find a team to get him his most wins ever.

I just find it hard to believe that guy would be caught off guard and not have a plan with multiple teams or one almost sure fire team he knew would hire him.

Maybe he has to go to a bottom feeder. I dont know. Seems odd he hasnt been picked up with his knowledge. And waiting a year at his age seems off.

I can only imagine what BB interviews are like since he talks so much at press conferences

I would love if Bill could be a nfl analyst/historian for a network. Dude has suck knowledge of the game down to minor details

It's starting to look like Belichick is either going to coach Washington or no where.

Rah is a great coach. He has been very honest about not being ready when he took over the Bucs at 33 with no coordinator experience. The Bucs saw that he was going to be a great leader but going from graduate assistant on a college team to HC in 10 years is a pretty big jump.
