I actually inhaled and caught a significant buzz, and realized that we are talking kickers here?
I know, I know, I could easily just ignore, but like I said, I inhaled
Sure you did, Bill.
Lol.

I'm pacing myself. Wife wants to go to some friend's B-Day party much later tonight and I'm... meh.
We'll see how this goes.

He should shut his mouth publicly.

Chain of command.
If the HC didn’t want him to talk he would tell him
Like Jaylon talking about his new position
The HC freely lets people answer questions and coaches too
It’s not some top secret information
Coaches on lots of teams talk about players

I don't trust Fassel or McCarthy after the unnecessary and trash calls they made last season, so anybody they hand-pick I seriously question.

The scapegoat is Nolan, but those other two coaches was messing up too. What does McCarthy even do?

Our fans continue to be the worst.
Get your *** out on the field with your teammates. You have just as much chance of getting it at home being a COVID coward as you do being in Frisco like you should be.

Not knowing Why Ness missed makes it hard to criticize I think Fassel was trying to motivated him to get back to camp. Its OTA's and he is a punter I like the competition.

Doesn't seem like he has a chance though. To me it should be Niswander's job to lose and then let him lose it if Anger out plays him.
What do you think of Angers kick off specialist role? Does that factor in the equation for you?

Whether it's Anger or Niswander who gets the job, there's nothing wrong with 46 yards per punt and better hang time.

Getting someone who could provide relief for Zuerlein from overextending himself on kickoffs wouldn't be too terrible!

Whether it's Niswander or Anger getting the punting job, chances are that the punting would be in capable hands. :)

For those of us who are upset by this punting conundrum, Hunter will get his chances to outdo Anger when TC begins. For Pete's sake, these are great punters we're talking about, here. Both of 'em have the qualifications to get the job done as well as can be expected. Don't worry, be happy! :D

Fassel did same with Zeurlein and Forbath.

Forbath outperformed Zeurlein IMO but Fassel familiarity and comfort with Zeurlein guaranteed him the spot.
With Niswander not even there he couldn’t have outperformed Anger though. I also don’t think Fassel ever coached Anger.

I dont think it should be anyone’s job to lose. Someone should have to win it. But in reality Anger has the advantage of history - a proven NFL track record over an 8-9 year career. That could give him a bit of a leg up at first, but Niswander should get plenty of opportunity to show up in training camp.

I suspect it's entirely possible that Fassel is just wisely attempting to get Niswander to show up by his comments here. If that's not happening, perhaps Niswander will come to camp being coaxed by the threat of losing his punting spot to Anger. Hunter isn't helping his case by staying out of touch at home. Hopefully, he'll show up in TC ready to prove his wares to Fassel's satisfaction. He's 6 years younger than Anger, so you'd think that would work to his advantage. I guess we'll see what happens in TC, in any event. This should make for an interesting competition in TC, to be sure.

I don't really like hearing this. Niswander was amazing in his stint last year. Dude boomed the hell outta ball for us.. Declaring Fassell's "guy" the frontrunner at this point seems like maybe we're not really engaging in any real competition. And I don't like it.
Fassell similar to Jason Garrett and the Joneses.

That’s baseless.

Fassell said the guy that was actually present in OTAs and with a 8-9 year history of being a high quality NFL punter was the front runner, and further went on the say The other guy is developing and will get to compete in training camp. I don’t know how that got twisted into controversy and negativity.

If the board lifts its ban on discussing this, I'd be happy to take you to school on this matter, kiddo.

It say family issues
Doesn’t say anything about him being scared
He played last year
It could be a family member got sick which under league protocol he would have to stay away
This is an OTA not training camp
Some fans always assume things that aren’t known

a site made up of what 80% men but many are drama seeking queens..lol they make mountains out of mole hills as my mom used to say..always assuming the worst..

I have said many times over the years that every position, even those with star players, should be up for competition every single year regardless of who they are or what they did in the past.

That said, I am wondering in this case if Fassel may be saying it publicly to let Niswander know that not showing up is hurting his chances.
How can he compete if he’s not there?

Amen to your point on McBriar. That guy in his prime was money.

Anger last year had 54 punts, 46 yard avg, and a long of 67, 23 kicks were downed inside the 20
Niswander last year had 26 punts, 47 yard avg, and a long of 58, 10 kicks were downed inside the 20

Statistically i'm not seeing much of a difference between the two. Granted punting stats are tough to sort out. Typically punters with bad offenses have the best numbers, because they can sit back and just boom the ball. You punt for a team like KC, typically when you do punt its from mid field. I have no issue with Fossil saying that the vet has the upper hand, especially if he can handle kickoff duties better than Niswander.

Either way we should be better in 2021 than we had to start 2020 at the position.
What was the hang time differenc?
