Yes, making it the third straight weekend as number one. It should be #1 next weekend as well, and then finally fall the following weekend (Tropic Thunder, Star Wars: Clone Wars).

Tomorrow it should break the $400 M barrier to blow Shrek 2's record out of the park (18 days vs 43 days). After that, it is uncharted waters (with the exception of one ship...).

I'm doing my part tomorrow by finally seeing it in IMAX. :D

i wish i could see it in an IMAX theater, but there isn't one in the town i live in so i'm out of luck.

Gotta say the scenes shot in IMAX were gorgeous. It's like watching a DVD and then all the sudden there's a scene that plays from a Blu-Ray. The opening scene is just amazingly clear. I'll be seeing a lot more movie at IMAX from now on. Harry Potter is supposed to have some scenes filmed in IMAX like the Dark Knight did.

the editors raved about the 70 mm imax shots they had. Said it was the best looking stuff they have ever seen. this was the first movie i think to mix 70mm imax and 35mm film together.

pretty cool. you can read about it on avid's website.

I have no idea what was shot with what, but the rooftop scenes were just breathtaking in IMAX. It made my heart skip a beat.

When Titanic came out the Internet was in its infancy

Not quite... the internet was in its infancy in the 80s.

now that the editing team pulled that off i would imagine all action movies will start doing this.

Well depending how you look at it... it was alot earlier than that.... 1969.

The Internet started to become mainstream with the advent of the graphics browser(Mosaic/Netscape) and then Internet Explorer... AOL... etc...

I think that is the point he is trying to make.

 My point had nothing to do with the internet's inception.

The scenes that took up the ENTIRE screen were shot with IMAX cameras, the others that had "black bars" (which you don't really notice) were shot normally.

LOL. Yeah, I didn't even notice there was a difference. Maybe that's why those scenes stuck out so much.
