Favorite cut of Steak.

How can you possibly have a ribeye above the porterhouse?

He probably eats all 6 of those steaks at one time.

It's basically a T-bone w/ a larger cut from the tenderloin. Porterhouse steaks have more tenderloin and less strip and T-bones are more strip and not as much tenderloin.

Another thing is people think they are better because they are more expensive. This isn't true, its only because typically they are larger INDIVIDUAL sizes than most other cuts on the menu.

Now, I amd really getting hungry...

Thank you,sir.....Thank you, thank you, thank you! did I say thank you???

(I don't eat it myself, but own a chunk of Hormel stock, which doubled over the past year, and split 2 for 1 the other day,and is still growing. Seems when times are tough, folks turn to.....Spam!)

Us buzzards have to eat too. If necessary, I will eat anything that won't eat me first.

You do know it's completely ok for a human being to differ from your opinion, right? Some of us call it the American way. To think that if all of us were identical, how BORING our world would be.
That world may be boring, but it would be rid of people who think ribeyes (note there's no "-" in the word) are better than porterhouses.

Lighten up, Frances, it was tongue in cheek.

Your post earlier is odd. You claim the porterhouse is the best but even you say the rib-eye is better. I don't understand that at all.
There's nothing odd. You're just misreading what I wrote. A never-ending problem for you, it appears. I hope your job that travels doesn't require reading comprehension.

You are a peculiar poster who always seems to leave himself a way out w/ any post or debate you involve yourself in. It's fascinating to watch to say the least. I enjoy the spin.
Yeah, I get that you're obsessed given you go from thread to thread taking issue with my posts. Peculiar fits the bill -- for you.

1.) Ribeye "Cowboy Cut"

2.)NY Strip

3.)T-Bone

4.)Ribeye "Bone in"

5.)Porterhouse

Is there a bad cut of steak if cut right and cooked right?

Steaks/Beef Cuts that suck no matter what:
- Sirloin
- Chuck
- Eye Round

Top Shelf:
- Skirt Steak
- Prime Rib
- Filet Mignon
- Chicken Steak

Ribeye or Porterhouse, depending on the mood I'm in.

Ruth's Chris all the way! We've been to several fine dining restaurants in the Richmond area and Ruth's Chris is still my favorite by far. We still haven't gone to Morton's here, but I have a bias toward Ruth's Chris regardless. :D

tri-tip is an economical way to enjoy steak - at least for us medium/medium rare folks.

The best cut is obviously a porterhouse because you get the best both of worlds (tenderness and flavor) in one cut. As to whether a filet or a ribeye is a better cut, it really depends on a lot of factors. But all else being equal, it goes without saying that a ribeye is the better cut.
Was in your neck of the woods last weekend theo...

Went to Kirby's Steakhouse in the Woodlands for dinner. Had the blue ribbon filet, and I thought it was great. Was there for a private function and we had a limited menu. But I was impressed.

They served this at this wedding I went to this past weekend. Sadly, I don't eat beef. :(

Oh man, I hate the private parties at a nice place with pre-set menus. I just want to pull out some cash and say screw it, give me what I want. I haven't been to a Kirby's. Just never had the opportunity I guess. They have a Fleming's in the Woodlands. The one in Houston is my favorite steak joint. Well, there and Bob's in Dallas because at Bob's I can go there in jeans and a t-shirt if I feel like it.

I like whatever is on my plate, whatever is on my fiance's plate, and whatever is on our kids' plates....because I'll be eating the remains of those as well.

I usually go for a thick ribeye...I LOVE fat on my steak.

Hard to beat a big porterhouse.

However, I cooked what may have been the best steak I've ever eaten last week. I reluctantly bought some grain fed filets because the little lady doesn't like fat on her steak. Peppered and seared the 2" cuts over butter and olive oil in a cast iron skillet and finished them in the oven with a chunk of blue cheese and buttered bread crumbs. I dressed them with an ancho chile salsa and served them with fresh green beans cooked in garlic, olive oil, and butter...and of course, some fresh cut red potato fries.

There are few steaks that I can recall being as good as this one was.....

Lol.. No pork, but fish, turkey, chicken...yes

I do consume dairy, but I do find substitutes when I can.

As you can see, the dish didn't offer much in the way besides that big hunk of meat. I ate the potatoes and a few of the veggies. Then went to a house party afterwards and inhaled some BBQ chicken. lol

There's a Flemings' here in Atlanta too. I hate that place. If I am going to pay a crapton of money for a steak, ill go to someplace really exclusive and fancy like Bone's, instead of paying fancy and exclusive prices for a not fancy and exclusive meal.

I prefer the steakhouse around the corner from my house. Local, good, and moderately priced.

Outstanding. :laugh2:

I rarely eat red meat anymore. I probably eat to much fish atm. The mercury level contents in some is bothersome so Im steering more and more to pretty much chicken only.

My son loves his cheese burgers but is EASILY satified w/ BBQ chicken or baked or grilled.

10 yr old runts are easy to please with chicken. :)

All free range chicken if I can get it.
