Very simple thread. What is your favorite television show of all time?

For me it would be a toss up:

Barney Miller or Hill Street Blues

Obviously you mean besides Dexter.

Star Trek gets my vote, though Gilligan's Island and Beverly Hillbillies shaped me. And yes, this explains a great deal.

I almost put Dexter on my list btw. The Dexter thread a while back turned me onto it. I went out and purchased Season 1 and watched it in 3 days. It is an amazing story so far. I am waiting for Season 2 to come out now so I can continue watching it.

Hill Street was greatness. My favorite was probably The X-Files.

St Elsewhere, Family Guy, Soap, Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show, Star Trek, Arrested Development and MST3000 all rank right up there though.

Did you watch Six Feet Under? To me their first three seasons were as good or better than Dexter. Which is saying they were increadible.

I'm watching season I for the first time on sorry CBS with cross promo pop ups during the show..makes my head explode. Anyway, season II is much better...even greater writing and the production values improved a notch. You can tell they poured more resources into it as they saw it was a hit in yr one. Hankering for season III to air sometime this yr.

SNL of the 70's There was none better than those cats.

AS for regular show types I would have to go with I Love Lucy.

As for current shows, I really like Chuck.

Easy for me

Frasier...the comedy was 2nd to none. I could laugh until I cried with that show. And still watching reruns today, I miss it like crazy.

Today I watch 2 and a half men and Rules of Engagement. As funny as they are, they are not as funny as Frasier...

Wish it were that simple, but I have more than one favorite all-time show. Classic Star Trek, The Six Million Dollar Man, Wiseguy (actually only the first season though), 24, Xena, Buffy|The Vampire Slayer, The Big Valley, The Cosby Show, E.R., Columbo, Soul Food and 60 Minutes jump out of my head first. Battlestar Galactica (the SCI-FI Channel series, not the original series) will join that list if the final season this year is as good as the previous ones. Good topic.
