Favorite whipping boys from the glory years

CB Larry Brown coverage used to give me fits.

Most of us knew the Raiders were buying fools gold when they signed him after the Steelers QB odonnel gifted him with a couple gimme interceptions in the SB
I did not mind that he got a big payday. It did not hurt the Cowboys.
What did irk me was that he got the MVP of superbowl, he earned it...However I was hoping that Irvin would get it so the triplets could each have a superbowl MVP.

I had no disliked players on the 90s team. I used to have fun watching even the special teams role players like Gant, Fishback, and Patterson.

In Browns defense, he was a 12th rounder, lol playing opposite 1st rounder Kevin Smith soI guess he overachieved in some sense……I just thought we could have replaced him with better quality at the time.

im not sure if the salary cap era had officially started at the time

Dude big cat was a great player though, 3 bad plays vs all the great plays he made. but yeah people remeber Thanksgiving and not the relentless pressure he could bring to a game.
Lol I agree but he still got worked over for those plays

Brock Marion. Terrible in coverage. Even worse at tackling. And became a passenger on the Bettis bus after getting ran over.

Danny White
The guy would look like a world beater for 3 games. Game 4 the wheels would fall off. I liked the guy, but I had some choice words for him from time to time

Jackie Smith

Jackie Smith played in five pro bowls. He played 16 seasons--only one season for Dallas.

Only played two regular season games for Dallas--he was toast at that point. Ah, and then some fateful playing time in the playoffs, after which he retired. Really wasn't in Dallas enough time to be a whipping boy.

You are getting awfully whiny when someone disagreed with a very poor take. Brown and Lewis weren't close to Pups class. You are probably the only person that has watched them play that thinks they are

Agreed. Kevin was an outstanding corner before his achilles injury and a decent one after.

Russell Maryland was a huge disappointment. 1st overall pick and was being outplayed by Jones and Casillas. Not that those two were not good players. 1st overall is supposed to be a difference maker. Maryland was not.

Certainly a disappointment for a 1st overall pick. But it wasn't his fault where he was picked. It was a pretty poor draft class...lot of forgettable names in the top 10 of that draft.

Maryland was decent. Always gave his best. Just didn't have a lot of tools.

We had two complete sets of starting defensive linemen, something that will never be seen again in this league. Maryland complimented it.
