FB Message from Dez

I just consider this season a wash. It was like he was out all year. Should have been anyway. If he comes back next year and still gets owned then I'll agree with you.

Oh yeah, as a fan I can blame the injury, and I know Dez's talent level.

End of the day, the way the league is, he will be piled on until he proves it was strictly the injury.

I neither want to hear or care about your excuses Dez. Do better... much better.

Dez has no understanding. Like writers, you can't pay attention to the readers/fans are saying. If you do, you've already failed because you're worrying about the wrong thing rather than what's really important. Your job.

Why do you expect professional athletes to be robots and not hear all the noise?

If you're asking this question, you're in the same boat as Dez. Think about it for a second. Should what you or anyone else on this board think really matter to Dez? No. Only what the Cowboys think should matter as they are the one that employ him. Everyone else is like you said. Noise and should be ignored as they have no barring on his life or his job.

It's why I wish none of the players would read their twitters. They are in the public eye and are going to get criticized unfairly or not. Best to ignore everyone. Can't win a words battle with fans.

Thats nearly impossible to do in this day and age. So much of everyone's life is online. Especially younger people. These guys can't even turn on the local news without getting some criticism. I completely understand why players get fed up and want to defend themselves.

Dez must visit this board from time to time. Big mistake. Fans don't know what they're talking about. At least most of the ones here.

Well said, broski

I always get a kick out of players taking shots at fans who complain unrealistically. You can just tell what the players think if the nonsense.

Of course, it's draining the ocean to try to do anything about it. But they're only human. If it drives some of us nuts to keep reading it, you know it'd start to get to you if the unfair criticism was directed right at you.

If I were getting paid 100 million to play a game, i would ignore it

Esp if I had WAY under performed after constantly flapping my gums

It does no good because nobody cares what an idiot fan thinks. It's the player that makes the news.

Good for him, but him coming back, and getting owned by every CB we faced hurt his stock, in terms of his name in as 1 of the best in the league.

So I guess teams will no longer focus on doubling Dez? His stock has been hurt...yea right...
Teams will fear him just as much as they did at the end of last season. No less.

Doesn't matter what good it does. Nobody here knows what it's like to have thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people talking down about you for weeks on end. They are human and being beat down is going to draw a reaction from people sooner or later.

If injury is a reason a cowboy sits, I'm good. Get well. If you play, play at your best and if not, it's on you. For Dez, it's the most predictable thing in the world for an immature player as he is to hold out, get paid, purchase something moronic, and get hurt. Hoping he shows in camp in wide receiver shape and ready to redeem. This year he sucked and he should own that. I have hope in him but this season he was the characature of a player buying his own hype and shortcutting what it takes to be top five.

Tony Romo gets bashed more than any athlete in the world, but guess what? Tony Romo never complains about it. Don't tell me that these athletes can maintain themselves when they get criticized because plenty of them do.
