yeah he doesn't fight for the UFC. they had contract talks but couldn't come to an agreement. he's known for fighting in Japan in an org. called Pride Fighting Championships that the ufc purchased and shut down the company. their's a clothing line called Affliction which will be having there 2nd mma event this Saturday in which Fedor will be fighting former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski.

I thought Anderson Silva was supposedly the best. This guy looks better to me. But I've only seen a couple of minutes of Silva fighting. Both strike fast. I will say that. Seems like a lot of fighters try to feel the other guy out. This guy doesn't. He wants contact and he dares you to stop him. The arm bar after getting dropped on his head was impressive.

They mentioned 1 loss. To who?

his 1st and only loss was to Tsuyoshi "TK" Kohsaka. it was in a Promotion in Japan called Rings. the Fight was the final fight in a tournament that night and Fedor got a cut 17 seconds into the fight. the referee had to stop the fight because the cut was too deep. since it was the finale in a tournament there had to be a winner which due to the cut was TK even though the cut was caused by an illegal/accidental elbow. here's the fight

they had a rematch 5 years later in Pride fighting Championships

I think Anderson Silva is better and BJ Penn is debatable.

I'd say he got his revenge. He didn't look near as bloody as the other guy in the fight he lost.

Is it illegal to grapevine the legs in this? I never see any of them do it and it is very effective. It's illegal in wrestling. Just wondering.

I remember his fight with Randalman some years back where he got slammed head first into the ground only to win the fight like 20 seconds later

It's a legal move. I think it's rarely used because you lose all your leverage if you go to strike them or apply a submission. it's great to hold them down but that's about it.
