In a very interesting video interview Anderson Silva says he does not think there is a pound for pound best fighter in the world. When asked if he thought WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor or UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre were better fighters than him, SIlva replied ”No” emphatically. When asked about UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn he surprised me simply saying “Maybe”.

It was clearly a joke, without a doubt, but there are just somethings that aren't funny, no matter how they were intended.

I do think I have to agree with Ramp on Fedor being the #1 fighter in the world though. I've seen very little to convince me otherwise to this point.

Lesnar was dominating Mir until the ref saved him and Couture was losing that fight than got dropped.

The ref broke them up after Lesner landed an illegal blow. Lesner was right back in control on the ground ... except he kept getting submission attempts against him.

Lesner was able to take Mir down twice but both times he did, Mir kept attempting knee bars. Mir finally got the knee bar to stick and Lesner TAPPED OUT with over a minute to go in round 1.

Any fighter who fights Lesner will submit him now or lose trying.

It is the MMA and in championship caliber fights they don't stop it for blows unless a guys eyes are completely glazed.

Mir couldn't knock out one of the lightest heavyweights he will face....

Lesner need a lot more BJJ training before he can be a top heavyweight.

Just like he needed to learn to play football before he could get on a regular season NFL roster.

I heard Dana White offered him a spot on the next season of Ultimate Figher and I doubt very seriously he would win that either.

Kimbo is cool and fun to watch but he isn't on Brocks level or even close to it.

GSP has already beaten Penn once and will do so again. GSP is a markedly better fighter now.

Silva has to beat good fighters before he can claim anything. He is impressive but the guys he fights are far from it.

Penn is only 2-3 in his last 5 fights and at 170 he is very beatable.

the 185 pound division is weak. Silva should move back up to 205.
