Slight cut back? Heh. Yes, very slight. He basically took a longer stride on his right foot. Other than that, he just ran straight ahead.

man your showing your colors...give it a *** rest. What, did you want to him to go search for people to juke to make you feel better about him scoring a td...good grief.

He was running vs the 1st unit and they were not giving up much early...though L White had 13 yard run. All week St Louis has been raving about CJ in practice (they practiced vs Tenn last week) so they were totally keying on him. They also got a huge hit on him on short pitch...but a couple of plays later he was gone. Just tip your hat and say...it's just a few plays in preseason...but he does deserve some credit.

From the single run I saw of his, johnson looks like a faster julius.

Fast backs with limited wiggle get figured out in the NFL.

The clip was posted because it was supposed to be impressive. I didn't find running straight ahead impressive. How is this so hard to understand? Tashard Choice's long touchdown was much more impressive if you ask me. But you won't find that on a clip by itself on NFL.com

Wow, you got all that from one run? Your amazingly talented. How on earth could you tell he had no wiggle...did you want him to cut back across the field...maybe slow down...just to make you feel good? Maybe you will be right, though I doubt it. The notes coming in from their camp is that he is very instinctive and deos has nice wiggle. The angles are just different with a guy this fast and quick.

I still say he's better as a tandem back...he's up to just over 200lbs now, so his game would not be to move the pile for 30 carries.

Now I do understand that reasoning. No need for folks to get carried away over one run...I just don't see any reason to bash the guy. Put I see you point as far as exposure.

Actually it was posted because these same 2 guys looked as if they were still at there respcted colleges, in other words they didn't miss a beat. We here alot about how the game on the next level is faster and it takes guy longer to adjust to that it took these 2 guys one game, so i still say it was impressive by both guys.

theogt you mention Choice run was more impressive and thats debatable but you made no mention of Felix Jones runs and cut backs which was way more impressive then Choice.

I'm not going to believe for a minute that this wasn't posted because you thought it was impressive.

I just mentioned the Choice run because it was a long TD run, like the Johnson run. Based on the rest of Johnson's stats, I'd say Felix was likely much much more impressive.

that CJ run was as impressive as Emmitt's breakaway on opening day against the Giants.....it was merely a straight ahead run. I find the run to be lame. What I find impressive was the work of the offensive line and WRs on the play. Their blocking was superb and allowed CJ to run 66 yds untouched.

BTW, what was Chris Long doing on that play....He definitely didn't hold his containment. His overpursuit is the main reason that play went for 6.

So you do or do not think it was impressive?
I think it was awesome. His explosion, he broke a tackle that you failed to mention and his breakaway speed but this isn't just about the run as I said in my earlier post its about how he looked in his first NFL game. How he has looked in traininhg camp. The Rams were impress by him because they saw him all week. He didn't miss a beat against better talent, that was far more impressive IMO.

How'd he look on those other 5 carries for 11 yards?

How can a run be lame? I think your trying to hard to knock the run. JMO

Johnson's fast. There's no doubting that. But that hole was massive and simply running straight ahead through the hole isn't impressive at all.

Always gotta knock him......

I guess the same way Felix Jones looked on those carries where he didn't run for 19 yds on the sweep and 28yds on the catch. You know the same way Choice looked when he didn't run the 19 yds for the TD whats your point?

Lets see without those big plays:
Felix would have 5 carries 13 yds
Choice would have 6 carries 21 yds
CJ 5 carries for 11 don't see so bad no.

anybody can run in a straight line......

the run itself was bland......

the real seasoning came at the LOS.....where the DL and LBs were completely abused by the OL and other skill players.

So if Felix Jones would have done that and scored would you still consider it lame? By the way i can run in a straight line but I doubt that i would have scored.
