discuss

both are about the same size, Clinton is 5'11" 210, and Felix is 5'10" 210, both are explosive, cutback runners, Felix uses a few more, but Clinton is more of a inside runner now in Washington

People bash Portis because he's a skin, me included, but if Felix turns out to be as good as Clinton i'd be very happy!

Could be. I think Jones is a bit faster with more zigzag. I've been trying to figure out who he runs like. Portis is not a bad analogy.

I dont see the footwork in Portis that Jones has. His feet appear to be alot quicker than Mr. Portis. I think he sets up defenders a lot better also.

Thats just me.

I think I will wait until we atleast see him in a preseason game before I start making premature comparisons.

this is not what it's about, it's about style, that's the comparison I'm trying to make

I don't see much comparison in their game. Portis is much, much shiftier and looks faster on he field. Portis has that amazing lateral side step. Felix can change direction nicely, but I've never seen him make that lateral side-step like Portis does. But Felix does seem to run with more power than Portis.

Portis definitely runs w/ more power, and Felix is shifty as hell

Aren't you one of the people that thought Chris Johnson was shifty?

Portis has always been a zone blocking runner who could run inside effectively. He's become a better pass receiver over the years as well.

Felix would have to become better at inside running, but from what I saw out of him at Arkansas he's far better receiving the ball than Portis has ever been, plus he can return punts.

Not to say that Felix is going to be better than Portis, but to say that in my mind they appear to be running backs with pretty different styles and athletic abilities.

no

I don't know why you think Portis is shifty, he's a one-cut runner

I don't see it that way at all. I do think Portis sees the field well and does have good agility. But Jones is faster and has quicker feet with well I'd call it more agility. I guess he's more of a scatback than Portis.

Agreed Bob.

Yes, he was. And so was I. You'll see. Johnson and Young will have the Titans at the edge of the playoffs. The only thing that will stop that is the Colts and Manning and the Jags.

I wasn't arguing that he was shifty, just not the stiff theogt incorrectly labled him

That's completely opposite of how I see it. I don't see Jones as a scatback at all. Jerry and Wade seem to agree with me on that point. Both emphatically have said that he's not a scatback at all. Portis is a much better fit for that definition.

It's not that I don't think he'll be a good player. I just don't think he's shifty at all. I think it's possible his extreme speed and his moderate power can make up for that. But it's too much of a risk for me to have wanted to draft him, particularly in the 1st round.

:laugh2: no he's not, the only move he has in his arsenal is a cut and a spin
