Tom Ciskowski on the blitz on sunday night said the organization thinks the player felix jones most closely resembles is Charlie Garner.

If anyone didnt catch that check the media section of the cowboys web site. The blitz was pretty good sunday with ciskowski on for about 10 minutes.
Wow, I sure hope he resembles Portis a lot more than Charlie Garner!.

I dont see the blitz for sunday. I only see the blitz: rookies check in 5/9, and the blitz: jersey assignments 5/13.:(

Charlie was a good back. averaged 4.6 ypc, and was a great receiver out of the backfield.

discuss

both are about the same size, Clinton is 5'11" 210, and Felix is 5'10" 210, both are explosive, cutback runners, Felix uses a few more, but Clinton is more of a inside runner now in Washington

Clinton Portis is from the U don't lump him with this garbage back

It's almost as bad as you lumping yourself with Cowboy fans.

This is a great example of two guys being the same height and weight, but completely different body structure.

Portis has huge thighs. He can power thru tackles and he also has the wiggle sometimes to get around a LB.

I think Felix is more of an outside guy who can just 'quick' his way away from defenders.

If Felix can put up the numbers that Portis put up I would be extremely happy, but he won't be asked to play the same role as Portis had early in his NFL career.
nice observation

It gets bad when it's to the point of wishing failure on your team that you claim to be fan of.

I get it that some disagree with the direction that the people who are paid handsomely to make the team better and the so called "hick" billionaire owner. I also understand peoples frustration about certain players. But to constantly whine 'cause they think their football knowledge is somehow superior, to the point of wishing failure, is beyond ludicrous. Not much of fan if you ask me. Not much character within so called "fan".

If your labeling Felix Jones as a garbage back then yes it has something to do with him.

Not much to assume when there's a bright neon " idiot resides here" sign flashing in the window. I'm a hoppin' off brotha'. Heard me?

I'm not going to read 6 pages of posturing and arguing the finer points of this thread, I'll just say this.

If Felix turns out to be as productive for us, as Portis has been in his career, then I'll be plenty happy with him as a runningback.

Felix would have to become better at inside running, but from what I saw out of him at Arkansas he's far better receiving the ball than Portis has ever been, plus he can return punts.

YAKUZA

Felix never returned punts at Arkansas. Only kickoffs.

I think I will wait until we atleast see him in a preseason game before I start making premature comparisons.

I agree with you I hate the Skins, but Clinton Portis is a very good back and to compare a rookie who has not even played in one game to me is very premature.
