I'm guessing the Steelers along with a handful of teams would be interested in Tanner if he gets cut. And that was probably a factor in why Tanner didn't play. Either the Cowboys didn't want Tanner to get hurt before a potential trade or the Cowboys didn't want to showcase him any more. Can't think of any other reason Tanner didn't play? I didn't hear that he was injured.

Felix was a JJ Pick from day one, and everyone knew it. I remember Jones saying we had him rated over Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice, Matt Forte, Rashard Mendenhall, Jonathan Stewart, and Darren McFadden, Basically he was supposed to be better than every RB in the draft, but nobody knew it but us. We could have drafted almost all of them. Yep, that was also the year we drafted Jenkins over guys like Duane Brown, Thomas Decoud, Josh Sitton, Carl Nicks, all guys who have played in the pro bowl.

Not a big Jenkins fan, but he played in a pro bowl as well.

talk about a bust of a first rounder especially when we could of had ray rice, chris johnson or jamal charles.

I was so mad when we got felix. I am by no means an NFL scout, but dang, Jerry had some clouded judgement on that pick (Arkansas Alum)

I seriously doubt it was because Felix went to Arkansas.
Exactly how many Razorbacks has Jerry drafted now in his entire history with the Cowboys?
One. And that was Felix.

Still... cruddy pick.

JJ might have been the deciding vote on the pick but Wade wanted CJ and JG wanted Felix so I'd call it Garrett's pick

He was really bad the last couple of years.

I feel like a lot of it was Garretts fault that he didn't build off of how he looked early in his career.

Using a man blocking scheme with an Oline that wasn't good at it and trying to run a player like him between the tackles was just destined to fail.

He was unbelievable for awhile though.

Jones wasn't my favorite when he came out, but everybody knew that was going to be our pick. His rookie year, I loved the guy and thought he had the potential to be an elite back.

I caught about five plays of one of the PHI preseason games, one of which was Jones in the flat, reaching up with a half-hearted attempt to catch a ball that then sailed over his head. It was a flashback moment, and I remember thinking 'yeah, not going to miss that this year.' Not sure what happened, but his play last season was pretty bad, and it's not a surprise to see him bouncing around a couple of teams on his way out of the league.

He seemed like a nice guy, though. Wish him well in PIT if he's able to stick another season.

Actually they had Stewart over him, but of course he went well before we picked. We also probably had Mendenhall slightly ahead of him, but that's when they had the (in)famous Hard Knocks discussion on the clock where Garrett argued that Mendenhall was an everydown back and we didn't need another one of those because we already had Marion Barber.

The Eagles got a great deal. When we still had Felix and he did that awful fumble against the Seachickens, I proposed that we trade him to the Lions for their ugliest cheerleader.

I really liked Chris Johnson and Jamaal Charles' explosiveness, but Ray Rice would probably have been ideal.

Jason knew he was next in line for job, he would've done or said anything...

Ahhhh, your right. I forgot about that. I guess I was just looking at how well most of those other guys are still playing. Actually, if Jenkins could have found a way to stay healthy I would have liked him more.

Our luck Tomlin turns him into a star...

Jones was a massive bust. Good riddance. He won't do anything with the Steelers.
