Felix - Sprained PCL - Out two weeks

Sorry if I'm not overly concerned with this injury. Players get hurt just based off what I saw I don't think this is going to be some big injury that will keep him out long. Anything can happen you could get hit by a bus on your way to rehab but this just does not appear to be something that is going to hold Felix back long.

The only reason I am panicing is because of how awesome he is.

Every game he is not out there is just awful for this team.

I hope he bounces back and doesn't miss another game but so far to this point in his career he is a explosive player with injury issues.

It's a loss, but we have depth to replce him with in the short term.

But nobody brings that home run hit threat that he does.

Thats what I am scared of.

If you want to take a positive look at it, if he had to miss three weeks, this might be the best time. I'd rather him miss games against the Broncos and Chiefs -- and then have a bye week -- than later in the year when we have our toughest games coming up.

I dont think its bad either. He told Choice he could have played. I mean it had to hurt a bit if it was worse.

Yeah, but that may have been the adrenaline talking. I'm sure he woke up sore this morning.

I'm scared of JG's gameplan going into next week. Hopefully he won't move away from the running game that has made us so successful 2 weeks in a row. I can see him thinking we have to air it out.

I guess I'm seeing the bight side we are playing Denver not Philly this week. Not down playing the Denver game but at least it is not a division game.

The only positive is that it's better now then later. We can get by the Broncos and Chiefs while he rests. That wouldn't hurt us. Barber and Choice can carry the load against those guys.

We absolutely NEED the speed, explosion, and big plays Felix brings to the team down the stretch though. That can't be stated enough.

Yeah that's how I look at it too. We are playing two offensively challenged teams. Yes I still think the Broncos offense isn't very good despite their ranking. I would much rather Felix miss these games then games against the Eagles, Giants, Falcons, Saints, etc. I just want to see this guy playing in December when we will really need some dynamics to our offense.

UPDATE: Felix Jones has PCL injury

Felix Jones sprained the posterior cruciate ligament Monday but the Cowboys aren't sure how much time he will miss.

"It could get well quickly," coach Wade Phillips said.

Typically PCL injuries take two weeks to get better which would keep Jones out through the bye week.

UPDATE: Jones aggravated the knee on a 40-yard run in the third quarter of Monday's 21-7 win against Carolina, but coach Wade Phillips said the injury may have come earlier in the game. Jones was in on two more plays after the 40-yard run but did not get another carry and spent the rest of the game on the sideline.

He does not need surgery, just rest and rehab.

With Jones out and Marion Barber slowed by a quadriceps injury Tashard Choice is the only healthy tailback on the active roster.

In his two seasons Jones has been slowed by hamstring, quadriceps and now a knee injury during games. He hurt his toe while rehabbing from the hamstring injury and had season-ending surgery.

Jones has 212 yards on 21 carries this year. Against Carolina he had eight carries for 94 yards before the injury.

Choice was used lots last year against Pittsburgh, if I'm remembering correctly. They're way rougher than Denver. I'm sure they have every confidence in Choice and won't abandon the run.

Posterior Cruciate Ligament.

Here's what a normal one looks like on a MRI.

It's the black curved band between the Femur and the Tibia

What does this ligament do functionally, how much does it impede movement and running?

Yeah, clearly he had only been running Felix Jones the first three weeks, and Barber/Choice were just standing around doing nothing. The running game was all Felix Jones.

Choice is a rugged lil' motha: we won't be too affected. Granted, it takes away a home run threat but MB3 and Choice can be real affective and move the chains in tandem IMO. I'd like to see them use the extra roster spot for Ogletree: would love to see him get a few touches, both through the air and/or on an end around like they allow Crayton to run. He has the quickness and elusiveness to do it and do it well.

Don't sleep on the Bronco's new 3-4 D. Mike Nolan has his D looking sharp against the run & looking for turnovers.

Mile high will be rocking Sunday too.

Heck, I almost wouldn't mind seeing Chauncey Washington get a few carries if he's the strong, downhill runner he's supposed to be. I kinda like those guys that are 225+ and just run hard straight ahead. If our OL can keep opening holes like they have been, even a guy like him should be able to contribute a little bit.

If Barber is 100%, I guess we don't need him, because someone would have to get cut to promote him. Kinda complicated with CuJo maybe hurt again.

What he contributes is irreplaceable.

Choice did an excellent job last night. To bad felix doesn't contribute to pass blocking.
